I was so excited to get to shoot this Ellensburg engagement session!!! Nikkie is one of my favorite hygienists at the dental office where I work, and we were all so excited when she and Bailey got engaged. These two are best friends, and it’s always a good time when they’re around. Usually, on my posts about the couple, I write about their story in my own words, but I’m going to leave this one to Nikkie. Here goes our Q & A!

Q: Where and how did you guys meet?

A: “Way back in the winter of 2014 we met at junior college in Skagit, where Bailey played Baseball and I played Basketball. I walked out to my dorm kitchen to find a random man that I had never met named “Bailey” making some popcorn in my microwave. After finding out that our neighbors had sent him because our dorm was the only one with a working microwave… we ended up becoming really good friends. From this time on we grew to have a really strong friendship that developed into a relationship in the summer of 2017 when he asked me to be his girlfriend at our favorite music festival, Watershed!”

Q: How did he propose?

On the lovely day of Sep 1, 2021, I got a dozen roses delivered at work. When having a break between patients, I had read the sweet note saying that they were from Bay. After getting home I opened the door to find a note. “Hurry and get ready, then call Cassie”. Not following directions, I called Cass. She convinced me that the boys (her hubby & Bay) were planning a night out for us. With me being very gullible and excited about some good food with friends, I get ready and Cass picks me up. When picking me up she starts driving us to “Dinner” at a fancy place in the Canyon. To her advantage, I chat her ear off about everything under the sun. When entering the start of the canyon, she mentions that she needs something from the glove box as she starts to pull over. I immediately start to think that something is wrong, as looking through the glove box I find Bay’s I-pad. I then proceed to ask her why she has Bay’s Ipad. She responds, telling me to open it and unlock it. After doing this I find a video that Bay had made with many pictures of us in a slideshow to the song “Boyfriend” by Hardy. After bawling my eyes out with so many happy tears, I start to realize what might be happening. Cass then tells me to follow a trail at “Ringer’s loop” (that later I came to find out that he picked this location due to it looking very similar to an area in Skagit where we spent a lot of time together). While following the trail I find Bay at the end with a smile on his face and tears in his eyes. At the next moment, I was asked if I would spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Of course, this was followed by the easiest yes I have ever given. I could not have asked for a better, more thoughtful way to be proposed too. 🙂

These two are literally the cutest! They truly bring out the best in each other and are best friends. I’m so excited to celebrate with them on their wedding day, and cannot wait for their wedding next summer!
