Top 10 First Dance Songs

It’s a pretty daunting task when it comes to picking the song that you will dance to for the first time ever as husband and wife. There are so many options! Do you want a formal dance, or just your average slow song? I put together the top list of my favorite first dance songs, complete with a few of the lyrics and why I think it’s such a perfect first dance song! So let’s begin….

10. “Then” by Brad Paisley

Favorite lyrics – Now you’re my whole life/now you’re my whole world/I just can’t believe the way I feel about you girl…
I LOVE me some Brad Paisley. This song came out around the time that I was getting married, and it just fit. The lyrics are so good, and it’s just a great country first dance song.

9. “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perry

Favorite lyrics- Darling, don’t be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years/ Love you for a thousand more…
I don’t think I have gone a wedding in the last two years without hearing this song at least once. It’s got a great rhythm to it for a first dance, and the lyrics kind of explain it all.

8.  “Better Together” by Jack Johnson

Favorite lyrics- It’s not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving/I’ll tell you one thing, it’s always better when we’re together….
This one is more of a fun, upbeat song. And I love me some Jack Johnson. 🙂

7. “Everything” by Michael Buble

Favorite lyrics- And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times/ It’s you, it’s you/you make me sing/ You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything….
Another one of the more fun, upbeat first dances. Michael Buble’s smooth voice and the happy beat of this music is a great start for any new husband and wife. 🙂

Who doesn’t love Jason Mraz’s voice, but the lyrics to this one sum up any love story.

Favorite lyrics- Together can never be close enough for me/To feel like I am close enough to you/You wear white and i’ll wear out the words ‘I love you’….
Let’s be honest. It says “Marry me” in the title! This one is PERFECT for your first dance!

Favorite lyrics- But I promise you this/I’ll always look out for you/That’s what I’ll do
This one is just good. Perfect for an intimate first dance!

3. “Make You Feel My Love” By Adele

Favorite lyrics- Nothing that I wouldn’t do/Go to the ends of the earth for you/To make you feel my love…
I loved this song when Garth Brooks sang it, but it’s even better with Adele. Such a great song for any first dance.

2. “Fly Me To The Moon” by Frank Sinatra

Favorite lyrics- Fill my heart with song/Let me sing forever more/You are all I long for/All I worship and adore
I couldn’t make this list without one classic first dance songs!! Who doesn’t love Frank!

This song reminds me of summer time with my other half, and I can’t think of a better song to have for a first dance!
