Being a newborn photographer is definitely one of my favorite things behind wedding photography. I love being able to snuggle these little newborn babies and let their momma’s know that they are doing a great job. Having babies is hard work, and it’s even harder to take care of them afterwards, especially for first time moms. I don’t know if it get’s any easier with each baby. Me and my husband have been talking about having more babies, then I work with these newborns and hear their momma’s stories about not sleeping at night, and my ideas quickly change. đ
Oakley – 4 days new
I got to take these photos of little baby Oakley when she was just 4 days new. She was a perfect little baby! We bumped up the thermostat to about 80 degrees and she just melted (we were literally melting).
Oakley’s momma was induced October 11th around 7 pm. I kept texting her trying to get more details as the night pressed on. Things started up pretty quickly and she dilated to a 4 when i was headed to bed. I figured she would have the baby sometime during the night, and i told her hubby to text me a photo once she was here! I got some sleep, and woke up the next morning around 7, and still had no message from them! I texted them again and asked if we had a baby, and she hadn’t come yet! Her momma got an epidural around midnight and things slowed down a bit after that, but luckily, she was able to get some sleep. He did say that they were going to get the doctor to come in so they could have that baby! Once the doctor got there, after about 2 1/2 hours of pushing, baby Oakley was born.
8 lbs. 15 oz. 20 inches long. Born at 11:40 AM. October 12, 2015.
Welcome to the world, baby Oakley! You’re perfect! đ
