Last week I gave posted some things I wish all wedding clients knew, and today I wanted to finished that up. There are so many things that are different from couple to couple, but some of the main things are always the same. Everyone has to go through planning and everyone stresses, but when communication isn’t there, it makes things harder for EVERYONE involved. Here’s a few more tips when it comes to your wedding photography.

Things I Wish All Wedding Clients Knew – Part II

Wedding Day Timeline

Talking to your photographer about your wedding day schedule can relieve much of the stress about the flow of your day. Planning the timeline with photography in mind will ensure things will stay on schedule while capturing everything you are wanting.

Communicate

I don’t think I can say thing ENOUGH!!! Don’t expect your photographer to know your guests, who is most important, or details that are significant. Tell your photographer about little DIY projects, sentimental items, and special people so nothing and no one is left out of the photos.

Shot List

You may have seen shot lists in magazines giving you an idea of what not to miss, but hiring a photographer you trust and love their work can make all of the difference.  Instead of trying to dictate photos that you have seen before, give your photographer the creative license to capture your day as it deserves to be documented.

Family Formal Portraits

These can be stressful, so to make the process as easy as possible, it’s best to have a detailed list of the people in each photo. This will keep things moving, as well as make sure that no one is forgotten in the moment.

Light Matters

The most important component of photography is light. It can make the difference between a fresh, gorgeous image or a dull, boring image. When planning your wedding, consider the light.

With these handy tips, your experience with your wedding photographer will be SO much better!! You can see more of this series here!

Lighting is so so so key! Knowing what time the sunset is on your wedding day is incredibly important

Hi! I was wondering if you could tell me the name of the venue in the first picture on this post (the one that appears under “wedding day timeline”)?

    Thank you!
