The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for this Snoqualmie Pass engagement session. I was excited to find out these two wanted to head up to the pass for their engagement session, but I was a little worried! The last time I was out at Gold Creek Pond for Jon and Kristen’s engagement session, it was over 100 degrees and SO so hot. We lucked out with the weather, fortunately. It was warm, but not too warm, as we walked around the pond, and I got to know these two.
These two met when they were in college at Eastern Washington University. They spent lots of time together at the gym, hiking, and meeting up between classes. It wasn’t until a year of being friends that they started dating. Their first date was back in 2018 after Chris had asked her during spring break. Cassiah mentioned that it was one of the easiest first dates ever. Just from the short few hours I was with them, it’s easy to see how they balance each other out. Chris keeps Cassiah safe from wildlife like bears, deer, etc. when she wants to pet them, and Cassiah keeps Chris safe when he tries to eat things he’s not supposed to. It’s a win-win for both of them.
As we were planning for their session, Cassiah mentioned that Chris had wanted to see his wedding band once she got it. She had it custom-made from Damascus steel, and she thought of a cute idea to “propose” to Chris during their session so he could see it. Chris had the perfect reaction, and we all got a good laugh at it. When Chris proposed to Cassiah, they had gone on a hike around Tri-cities, and as the geologist he is, he told her he wanted to show her some rocks (eh hem- like a diamond….). They hiked to the top of Candy Mountain and were enjoying the sunset. Cassiah had recently gotten a promotion at work, and Chris pulled out the ring, got down on one knee, and then asked her if she’d like another promotion- to his wife. There were tears, a yes, and then a good laugh as they celebrated her next “promotion”. I thought that was so cute!
As I mentioned, we walked around Gold Creek Pond, laughing, quoting movies, and telling silly jokes. Naturally, we ended the session with them popping a couple of bottles of champagne. It was a great time! I can’t wait for their wedding next spring!
