A few years back, I photographed Marie’s maternity session for her first baby. Me and Marie go WAY back. Like all the way back to 7th grade when I thought she looked like a duck the first time I met her. I’m happy to say, I no longer think she looks like a duck, HA! Growing up, Marie was always the one that was terrified to have babies (for obvious reasons), but it’s been so fun to see her become a momma and crush it in that department. We did their first maternity session around Mattawa at the sand dunes, and I loved them SO so much. This time around, it was right around Christmas. We had hoped to get some snow, but Mother Nature had other plans. All the snow we had gotten the week before melted, I ended up getting influenza B, and we had to reschedule her session. We both decided it was better to protect her and the baby than to expose her to my sickness, and we missed the snow. We did, however, still decorate their beautiful blue spruce in their yard and with Marie’s bright red dress, I got all the Christmas-y feels!
I’m so excited to watch these two welcome their second baby girl into their family (See their first here). Their little one is going to be the best big sister, and I can’t wait to photograph that little bug in just a few months!
Marie & Matt- thanks again for letting me document this part of your lives! I’m so excited for this baby girl to get here!
