Last week, you may have seen I photographed Nate and Connie’s engagement session, but this week you get to see their beautiful Kiana Lodge Wedding. I’ve been anticipating their wedding for months! I always love when I get to head to the wet west side of the mountains. Not because I really love Seattle, because there really isn’t anything that I love about it. HA! The traffic is terrible, the people are right up there, BUT I’ve been pretty lucky and almost every time I head that way the weather is BEAUTIFUL!
With that in mind, I was extra surprised when I woke up on Saturday of their wedding, opened the blinds in my room, and saw SNOW on the ground. SNOW! Luckily, the forecast said it was going to get warmer, and it did. These two were sealed for time and all eternity in the Seattle Washington Temple with some of their family members. It’s always a special thing to make covenants in the temple, and I’m so excited they got to do that! The temples were closed for a while, but have recently opened up more and so it was pretty special they were able to do it.
After the sealing, we were able to get a few more photos around the temple. Last week when we were there, we got kicked off the grounds pretty quickly since the gates were closing, but we did have to head out to get to Kiana Lodge on Bainbridge Island. We found out that the ferry to Bainbridge had a huge line and a very long wait, so we decided to drive around through Tacoma to get to the venue. It was an unexpected two hours, but I think it’s SO important that a couple gets some time for the two of themselves on their wedding day, and Connie and Nate did!! They got a whole two hours in the car together and I loved that! So many times, couples get so wrapped up in the day that they don’t think about spending time with each other on the actual wedding day. I was glad they got that chance.
When we got to Kiana Lodge, I was excited to see their beautiful grounds. They had so many tulips planted, and everything was so green! Connie kept laughing at me because while we were taking photos, we’d turn a corner and I’d be SO excited because it was all so beautiful. It was hard to find a bad spot.
After their sealing, these two choice to have a more traditional ring ceremony with the exchange of vows and rings and sealed with a kiss! We all got a kick out of Nate’s vows- they ended up being a scroll that said “I LOVE YOU”. It was a great surprise! They had the sweetest things to say for their vows, they exchanged rings, kissed, and then celebrated with their family the rest of the evening.
Nate and Connie- thank you SO much for letting me be a small part of your wedding day! Your families were so sweet, and I can see where you guys get your goodness from! I’m so excited for you guys and that you get to start your forever!! Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Bray!
