Sarah and Ian’s Ellensburg wedding was perfect! It was your average Ellensburg day, complete with 20 mph winds, but as we were taking their bride & groom portraits, Ian looked at Sarah, with a look of love and admiration, and said that if it wasn’t for the wind, they wouldn’t have ever found each other. Ian works on one of the wind farms outside of Ellensburg, and that was brought him to Washington. Fate brought them together. They complete each other so well, and they really should be wedding attire models! 😉
If you haven’t checked out their engagement session, do that HERE!
The Beginning of the Day
So beside the wind, it was an amazing day. It started out with everyone getting ready for the day. Sarah hair and makeup was flawless, and the bridesmaids looked just as good when i showed up. And her dress! Don’t get me started on the dress. It was gorgeous, and Sarah’s hourglass figure made it perfect.
Then it was over to the guys. Groomsmen never disappoint when it comes to goofing off, and these guys were perfect for the job. All of Ian’s groomsmen have worked together on the wind farm from the start, and they act like it. And they looked pretty sharp in their grey suit pants with suspenders! Oh, the suspenders!
Then, it came time to Sarah & Ian’s first look. I let both of them know before we did it that it was the only time they would really be together, just the two of them, for the whole day, and just the relish in the moment. I strategically placed the two of them around a corner. You could see Ian’s anticipation along with Sarah giddiness. I let her come around the corner, and Ian’s face was perfect. The only thing he could say was “wow!” And the way he looked at her, oh man! They got to spend a few moments together, checked each other out, and then I whisked them off for portraits. We were able to find an area that was blocked off from the howling wind, and the dust storm that came with it, and got some amazing shots of just the two of them. They really should be models! They made it WAY too easy. We also got Sarah’s daughter in a few photos, possibly with some bribery of chocolate ;).
We finished up before the ceremony with bridal party photos and some family shots, and I don’t think I have EVER laughed so hard during bridal party photos. The guys were being crazy, we had miniature photo bombers trying to get to their moms and dads, but we busted them out with time to spare before the ceremony.
The Ceremony
Sarah and Ian then had some time to relax, Sarah to write her vows, and to have some fun until the real fun began. The wind seems to die down a little, and it was time for the ceremony. It was perfect. Ian told Sarah she was the one that he had always seen in his dreams. Sarah told Ian it was fate that brought them together. It was such a special moment, and touched many around them. The bridal party looked great, the location was amazing, and Sarah and Ian tied the knot as husband and wife.
Then the party began with dinner and one of the best maid of honor speeches from her sister! They partied, danced, and didn’t blow away in the wind.
Sarah & Ian, you guys are amazing. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you, and as Ian’s best man said, for you to make some babies! Ha!!
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. McDonald!
