It doesn’t take long for me to start going crazy after just sitting home for a few days. It’s pretty often that I’m scouring the internet for Raylee and I’s next adventure, and I have found some pretty awesome ones!! The more awesome they get, the more I think that I should probably have someone else with us if something was to happen. Ya know? Adulting isn’t all that fun, but once you have a baby you have to worry about stuff like that. If you look at some of my most looked at sites on the internet, one of the top ones would be the Washington Trails Association website. I’m always looked for somewhere fun that we can go and luckily, most of them are relatively close. Just the other day I was looking at an area up north of Winthrop (which isn’t really close at all), and just about booked a motel for the night so we could really adventure. That will probably happen in the next few weeks. Before all the cold and fall starts to kick in up there. Anyways…
I asked my friend Alyssa if she would want to bring her baby along on a crazy adventure to Franklin Falls that I had found on the WTA site. Just a short little 2 mile hike to a waterfall LITERALLY right below I-90. She was up for it, so we planned the date, and loaded up in the morning, and drove up to the summit of Snoqualmie. It was really a perfect day for hiking. It had been raining the few days before so the trail was a little mucky, but it really wasn’t too bad.
I always forget how heavy a 26 pound toddler feels after walking for a while. I really need to do it more often though, because it felt awesome afterwards to be able to say we did it! I’ve been on a few hikes lately that you just hike, and have no gratification at the end of it. No awesome views, no treasure, no nothing, and it was safe to say that this hike wasn’t like that at all. Raylee loved seeing every one and their dog (literally) hiking up as well. Every time she saw a dog, she would say “Doggie, WAIT! RUFF!” and repeated that until the dog wasn’t in sight anymore. She just loves dogs. To the point that she doesn’t realize that not all of them are nice. So that’s a problem, but luckily she was just on my back, and we didn’t have an issue.
The hike was fun. It was a perfect day for it, and then we treated ourselves to FroYo in Ellensburg on the way home. And i think Raylee enjoyed it, but she was mad at me because I wouldn’t let her go throw the rocks into the water.
Maybe when you’re older monkey. 🙂
Someone was clearly excited!
Clearly not the best photo I’ve taken of her, but it made me laugh too hard not to keep it. 😀
These rocks were awesome. Worn from years and years of the water rushing over them. It was like a natural little water slide.
I need to live in the forest.
Franklin Falls with I-90 RIGHT there 🙂
Of course she had to play with the rocks.
And the best photo of the entire day. HA! Trying to take a selfie with a DSLR is like impossible.
