Film photography is a dying art, but over the years of being in the digital photography business, I couldn’t help but have this desire to shoot film. I love the look of it. I absolutely LOVE it. I feel like i’m not only looking at images that stopped time, but memories. I wrote a few weeks back how I was jumping into film photography for personal shooting, and I finally finished out the first roll of film. While I was shooting, I found myself being much more meticulous when I was shooting. With digital, you can shoot all the images your want! Some of them are bad, most of them are good, but you have the option of weeding out the not so great ones in post-processing, but with film it’s ALL different. I found myself searching for the best angle, the best light, just the BEST shot I could get. Sure, some of my images had slipped focus (just another thing that you have to do with an old SLR-manual focus), and i was informed that I was shooting SUPER under-exposed by the lab that processed them (shout out to The Find Lab), and at one point, the back of my camera opened and I had some images ruined because of the light leak, but I absolutely love how the first roll turned out! I can’t wait to start using it more and more, and getting better, and learning how my meter reacts to light, and seeing how the different film stock turns out!
Oh man, it’s just exciting stuff! 😀 Check them out!
We had some confetti in the grass from trying out some confetti push pops. 🙂
Here’s one of the images during the light leak. I kind of love how it ended up turning out. 😀
Here’s a good example of how you should play in the mud 😛
Here’s my backyard. 🙂 It’s pretty great! I love the colors that the Fuji film rendered! So perfect!
Hope you don’t mind my cute little baby! She’s the best model around these parts!! 😀
In case you missed the first post that’s most about WHY I wanted to give film a shot, check that out HERE!
