I decided that during all this COVID junk this year, some of my favorite days have been with an intimate church wedding. This sweet couple had plans to get married in February of next year, but with the latest shut down by our governor, they decided to just up the date and get it done with just family and a few friends. I’ve said this before, but I feel for these brides having to try to plan a wedding in the middle of a pandemic. I can’t imagine the stressed they feel. Instead of worrying about what cake flavors they should pick, and what color goes best with sky blue, they’re having to worry about what COULD happen if the worst things happen. I feel so much for them, and applaud all of them that are sticking with their weddings this year.
Melic and Ashley chose to go more traditional and not see each other before the ceremony. They spent the morning getting ready, and when it was time for the ceremony to start, nerves were running high. The ceremony came at the perfect time, and these two were more than happy to finally see each other!
They exchanged rings and vows, had a sand ceremony as well as other traditions including kneeling pillows and receiving their a Bible, a lasso, and coins. After some beautiful words from their officiant, there were able to kiss for the first time as husband and wife!! We were able to get their family portraits done and sneak away for some bride and groom portraits. It started raining, so we snuck back inside, ate yummy pulled pork made by her brother, cut some cake, and played some quick games. Then these two hustled off to their honeymoon in Spokane! It felt like the whole day zoomed by us, but I’m so honored I got to be a part of it!
Melic and Ashley- It may not have been what you initially envisioned for your wedding day, but I thought it was absolutely perfect. Thank you for letting me celebrate along side you, and I can’t wait to see what you guys accomplish together! Congrats again!!!!
