I can’t think of a better way to start off my 2021 wedding season than with this Le Jardin of Yakima Wedding. Johnny and Meg were the kindest people, and their family basically welcomed me in as one of their own. It was so nice to feel a little normalcy after this past year. It was such a great day.

It was beautiful to see how these two blended their families together to build something greater. I loved how they incorporated their kids throughout the day.

I started the day with Meg’s beautiful bridal details. Her wedding ring was something I hadn’t seen before. Instead of having a second band, she had an insert for the ring that was SO cool! I loved that. Her dress was something she designed, and her cousin made it! She made sure to design it with a detachable train which was the most brilliant idea ever. I loved her dress. Oh, and I can’t forget about her cool shoes. Their whole family had cool shoes- they’re shoe people. 🙂

Once we got both of them all ready it was time for their first look, and Johnny’s reaction didn’t disappoint. It was the sweetest, and we had too much fun busting out their portraits in record time. It was pretty evident to me how much these two like each other.

I can’t forget to talk about their ceremony though. One of my favorite things that couples do on their wedding day is a foot washing ceremony. I think it’s the sweetest thing ever to show the devotion to each other, and these two included that, along with communion, and some beautiful musical numbers by family and friends. Then they topped it off with a sand ceremony with their kids. I loved that they included so many in their ceremony, that’s always special.

I don’t know if I was overwhelmed by the feeling of normalcy after such a crazy year last year or I was just emotional, but so many times during their wedding day had me tearing up, but nothing as much as the toasts and dancing. It was clear that these two are each other’s rocks, and that was even more apparent after hearing their friends and family say that same thing. Their son gave the sweetest speech that had everyone tearing up (me included). Johnny and his mothers dance was to a song his late grandfather had sung (that one got me). And then Meg had one of her late father’s best friends and then one of her good friends step in for the father/daughter dance. I know I wasn’t the only one that cried during that. It was a tender moment for sure.

There were so many beautiful moments of their wedding day, and I was honored that I got to be a part of it. That, and they had THE BEST tacos for dinner. That’s always a win in my book.

Johnny and Meg- thank you SO much for letting me be a small part of your beautiful wedding day. Every part of it was beautiful, and I cried like a baby for both of you. Congrats to you and your families!!!
