Alright guys. Let’s talk about engagement sessions for a bit. So you’ve found your venue, your florist, possibly your dress, and your photographer but what next?  Assuming you’ve never been married before, it’s safe to safe you’ve never done this. It’s all kind if a blur from this point on between wedding planning, hair appointments, and meetings with vendors, and do you REALLY need to shoot that engagement session? I’m going to answer that with a resounding, YES!!!

Here’s a few reasons why engagement sessions are crucial!

1. It gives you and your photographer a chance to work together before the wedding day. As a photographer, we get to see how you guys interact and that helps us big time when it comes to wedding day photos!
2. It’s a great time to have a hair and makeup run through! If you’re going to do it anyways (ALSO something I ALWAYS recommend), you may as well have something to look good for. 😉
3. It gives you a night to relax. Remember how I said you’re planning everything?! This gives you a second to just breathe and enjoy each other. Chances are, you’re fiancé will have to give you more kisses than he/she ever thought, and you’ll leave feeling well loved!
4. It’s a chance to see your photographers work with you in it!! You’ve seen their work of others, but it’s more exciting when it’s YOU!
5. It’s fun!! Sure, it may be awkward to begin with, but that’s our job to make you more relaxed and let you just feel like you! It’s also good to get that out if the way before the big day. Then you’re a pro when it comes wedding day!!!

Your engagement session is one of the funnest parts of wedding photography for me! I recommend them to all of my clients! It just helps everyone be more prepared and ready when it comes to you wedding day photos!
