It’s not a very well known topic, but Save the Dates don’t have to be confusing! It’s hard to know what you should even put on there, or when to send them out, but you’re in luck! I’m here to let you know!

Save the Dates

When Do I Send My Save the Dates?

So many times I get asked “When should we be sending out our save the dates!?” and it’s a good question to ask! You don’t want to send them out too far in advance, but you also don’t want to send them too late. Generally, they should be sent out four to six months out from the wedding date. If you are having a destination wedding, then you would send them out more like six to eight months out, if not more. This gives your guests plenty of time to start planning!

What Do I Add On My Save the Dates?

Save the Dates

Your Save the Date are just a simple reminder for your guests to inform them of the date of your wedding. You don’t need to have all of the details on it! Really just your name, date, and location, and if you don’t have the exact location, than no worries. Your formal invitation will give all those details once you send those out! One piece of information you can add is your website though (if you have one). That’s a fun way for your guests to start getting excited.

+1’s

When you’re a wedding guest, it’s hard to know if your plus one is invited as well! Your save the dates are a good way to let your unmarried guests know that they are free to bring one! Just address the save the date to them “and guest” and they’ll get the idea! This also gives them a chance to plan for time off, or motels if needed! This is also the perfect time to let families know if kids are allows or not. If kids are acceptable, write “and family” on the envelope. Hopefully that will clarify any confusion.

Save the Dates are the perfect way to let your guests know of your upcoming nuptials, and let them start planning before it’s too late! Did you send out save the dates, or did you just wait to send out your invitations?
