I love everything about Leavenworth. The trees, the fact that it looks like a little German village, and that’s it’s plunked down right in the middle of the forest, surrounded by gorgeous views and breathtaking landscapes. I knew that this Waterfront Park engagement session in Leavenworth was going to be a a good one. I was sad when about a month ago or so we had to reschedule these two’s engagement session. Turns out Travis had to head to Guam to work on a nuclear submarine. WHAT?! Yeah, that’s real life. But I think it worked out pretty well how it all turned out! We had a lot of fun truckin’ around the park and taking in all it’s beauty.
Introductions
Kerrie and Travis met with the help of friends. They had been out together with everyone, but whenever Kerrie would ask about him, he was always unavailable. As fate would have it, one time it finally worked out that they were both available and so they took a chance. They went out for a beer one night, and as Kerrie told me, she never left. They hit it off better than they could have imagined. It was one of those nights that you never want to end. So they kept hanging out and kept seeing each other, and it blossomed into this amazing relationship.
The Proposal
I’m a sucker for sweet proposal stories. I really get into them as my couples are telling me all about it. I think of how nervous the guys get, all the anticipation, and it just makes me happy! Kerrie and Travis’ was no different.
They had gone up to the Northern Cascades and rented a cabin, but were headed to Leavenworth to check it out. Kerrie knew that the proposal was coming up quickly and she had told Travis to make sure he let her know when it might happen so she could make sure to get her nails done. She wanted them to look good for pictures. Well, they headed to Leavenworth and stopped along the road. Travis told Kerrie that he wanted her to go check something out, and he brought her onto a cute little bridge. He wrapper his arms around her, but Kerrie could help but notice that he kept playing with something. She couldn’t figure out what he was doing, so she turned around. He had the ring which he had custom designed with the diamond from her Grandmother’s wedding ring. The first thing she said to him was, “You never told me to get my nails done!” Ha! He asked her if that was a yes, and it was. They headed into Leavenworth and Travis looked high and low for a nail place but they were closed because of Winterfest, but sometimes it’s just the thought that counts.
Riverfront Park Engagement Session
I knew this session was going to be SO fun. We had talked about where we would want to go, and I really wanted just a few IN Leavenworth but eventually decided that there’s WAY too many people walking around on a Friday night, and that the riverside parks were PERFECT for this session! Kerrie and Travis spend a lot of their time together outdoors, hunting and riding quads, so since that’s such a big piece to their relationship, we needed to get in there. I absolutely love Leavenworth, and these two!! Thanks again for coming over the mountain and meeting me, guys! Glad it wasn’t the “worst thing” you’ve done! HA! 😉
