This Quincy newborn session was a treat!!!! If you saw a few weeks back, I was able to take some beautiful Christmas-y photos for my sweet friend, Marie. We knew that this sweet baby would be coming soon, but due to some (minor-now) health problems, they ended up inducing her a little early! That just meant that this sweet girl got to join her family early!
I’m also a little surprised after I have been around my kiddos and then I see a newborn baby! I KNOW that mine started out small (remember, Raylee was just 5 lbs 12 oz?!), but as your babies get older, it’s hard to remember just how small. This baby girl was born on Feb 5th and weighed in at 6 lbs 9 oz. Her coloring reminded me a lot of Jacksons, and I also flashed back to the first few weeks of his life being jaundice and having to drive 1 hour both ways to go to the hospital to check his bilirubin levels. Marie confirmed they had been doing the same, but this baby girls levels were finally on the downhill slope. Best news ever for all the jaudice-baby mommas!! We bonded over the facts of feeling inadequate when your baby’s levels keep increasing even though you’re doing everything you can to help their sweet little bodies get over the jaundice. Having babies is not joke, guys!
Madeline was welcomed by her little sister, and Marie assured me that she’s pretty sweet about it most of the time. I’m pretty sure there’s a little predetermined mischief set in older siblings that makes them excited to be the bigger brother/sister, but also a little jealous that they’re not the star of the show. I know it was hard on Raylee at first, but I just made sure to give her attention when Jackson was entertained or sleeping. She was a bit helper, and i’m sure Sabrina will be a great one too.
I’ve never been one to get baby fever, but this little girl was the absolute sweetest. I loved snuggling her, and getting to hear about her first 10 days in this world.
