I’m not a family photographer very often. Most of that is because I’m busy with weddings over the summer and I just don’t get around to being able to do it! But, I do shoot some, and it’s even sweeter when it’s my sister’s adorable family! đ
I took family photos for my sisters a few years ago, and they were adorable. It was fall and we chose to do it along the river here in Mattawa, and everything was yellow and brown and reds. It was just perfectly fit for the color scheme of my sister’s home. However, a year or so ago, they got this crazy idea to paint the insides of their entire house. Thing less neutrals, more pottery barn. Grey walls, white trim, and cabinets. It. Looks. Stunning. The first time I walked into my sisters house, I almost cried. It was kind of strange, but it was like I walked into a whole different house. It’s beautiful. Anyways.
Since they painted their house, they added a new baby, and the colors of their last family pictures just didn’t mesh as well with their non-brown-neutral walls anymore, so it was time to fix that. We picked a date, and had it on the schedule for months. Well like life happens, it was the day before and I hadn’t talked to her about them, so I thought I should text my sister and make sure we were still on. And we were. PHEW!
First stop was the Uptown Mall. I seriously LOVE Uptown. There’s SO so much diversity in the colors and the walls. It’s an awesome place for family photos.
And just like that….my nephew looks like a teenager….WHAT?!
First she’s sour….
…then she’s sweet đ
My sister’s need to not have such cute kids….then I think I need more….
And they have some pretty sweet dance moves…..
My pretty seester đ
Then we headed over to Howard Amon Park and parked ourselves in from of the community center (see what I did there?). Note to self: don’t go there on a Saturday for pictures….There were so many people!
We HAD to recreate this one from a few years back…..
And this is when you know the kiddos are done….. đ
