I really love when things that I envision come together as well as they did for this boho inspired bridal shoot! I knew I had the perfect model for it, but it turned out SO good. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to even share it.
I have known for a while now that I wanted to shoot a boho inspired shoot, but I didn’t quite have the vision until I was perusing the internet and came across this dress. It was on a site called Fashion Mia, and the site was a little sketchy. It wasn’t until after I had order the dress that I realized the dresses literally come from China. And there’s usually about a months wait. Fortunately, for me, my shoot wasn’t for about 2 months, and the dress was only about $10. So boom, model-check. Dress, almost-check. Now I just needed flowers.
I searched high and low for a florist that was interested in being a part of the shoot. It was kind of disheartening not being able to find someone in the area (but there’s literally nothing like that around me since I live in the boonies) so I was left to forge it out myself. If there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s how to find what I want on pinterest, and then {kind of} execute it. I knew that Hobby Lobby has some GORGEOUS fake flowers, and if I timed it right, they would have a 50% off discount on them! It was just by chance that the first time I went in there, THEY WERE ON SALE! JACK POT! I was so excited, so I pulled out my pinterest board, and started grabbing the flowers and greens that I wanted. I think I even walked out of there just shy of about $40. SOLD!
The last piece of my shoot I needed to find was my hair/make-up artist, and I had planned on using a girl that I have used in the past for a few shoots. Unfortunately, about a week before the shoot, she had a family member pass away, and wasn’t able to make it to the shoot. Hooray for kind of being good at makeup, and knowing how to braid! In comes pinterest again, and the ability to replicate what I see.
I wanted this shoot to show brides that even though YOU may have to do things on your own for your wedding, you can still look amazing, and your photos can still look amazing. Sure, it’s nice to have a huge bouquet, and it’s nice to have a gorgeous dress that costs upwards of a few $1000, but its not a necessity. You don’t even necessarily have to buy a “wedding” dress, but ANY white dress can work! Just make it you! Make it something you love! And that’s all that really matters!
HUGE thanks goes out to my amazing model Alyssa!! She is seriously one of the most gorgeous people I know! 😀
So here it is!
