Merry Christmas!!!!

I can’t believe that this year has come and gone so quickly.

Every time around this year, I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by. I feel like January has just begun, and then BOOM! We’re back here on Christmas Day. It happens so fast, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Just the other day, as I was stressing about all the presents I still had to buy, all that i still had to wrap, the stocking stuffers I had yet to buy, and I had to stop myself for a moment. This year I got all too wound up in all of those material things, and managed to put the real reason we’re celebrating in the back of my mind. All too often, I think we do the same on a daily basis. All too often all we think about is what we WANT, what we think we need, and we forget to just be grateful for what we have.

I’m so grateful that thousands of years ago my Savior was born. I’m grateful for Mary, and the craziness she endured, and the faith that she showed. I’m grateful that He came to earth to be able to atone for our sins so we can live with our Father in Heaven again.

There were times in my life that I felt lost. Abandoned. Like I had no where to go.

Hopeless.

I was spiraling in a downward motion and there didn’t seem like there was much hope in sight for me.

Because of my Savior, i was able to get out of that pit. I was able to bring myself to be the person who I knew I needed, and very well could be.

It was a struggle. It was a long, hard road. But i’m grateful that i could be forgiven. Now I look back at that time in my life, and the pain isn’t there anymore. The anguish, gone. Because of Him.

Christmas is a great excuse to get together with family. To buy each other gifts. To make cookies, and eat WAY too many of them. But make sure you take a second to remember why we’re really celebrating…..because A Savior is Born.
