Behind the scenes shots are some of my favorite images to share! It can be too easy to think how gorgeous everything looks from a wedding, but then you see the behind the scenes shots and realize it’s all a shift in reality. HA! This is also one of my favorite posts in the year! You can see years past HERE (2017) and even here (2016).

This year, I knew Jackson was going to be joining our family, and thought that Justin would be working hard farming all summer. That wasn’t completely wrong, but in March, we found out that Justin wouldn’t be working on his family farm. That was a bit stressful not knowing what would happen with him, and because of that, my goal of shooting only 8 weddings quickly turned into “BOOK ALL THE WEDDINGS!” After closing my schedule for 2018 at 8, I opened it back up and was able to add another amazing 4 couples. I’m so grateful I got to add those sweet couples, and that it all worked out for everyone involved!

I also had the chance to work with some killer second shooters again. I recently had a conversation with another photographer who asked me what my second shooters did on a wedding day. They obviously get shots that I wouldn’t have gotten without them, but they also are there for some moral support, and my favorite part, to snag these behind the scenes shots! I couldn’t do this post without them! A huge thank you goes out to Bre, Magali, Eva, Jordan, Sara, and ESPECIALLY to Morgan! I love you girls!!!

My weddings were just amazing as the couples that were a part of them all, and I can’t wait to see how 2019 is another amazing year!! Take a peek behind the scenes to see me fluffling all the dresses, tying all the ties, hugging all my couples, styling all the details, petting all the dogs, and sewing all the things! 😉

Fun fact: I HATE sparklers. When I was little I developed a fear of fireworks after one that my neighbor set off shot at our house. I was FOR SURE my house was going to burn down, and ever since then I don’t like sparklers, fireworks, or anything else that could potentially burn my house down. BUT, because I love my couples, I deal with it when they want a sparkler exit. 😀

NOT my second shooter….Just a guy that kept standing up taking pictures of everything. They have a name for that in this industry….it’s “Uncle Bob.” Don’t be an Uncle Bob.

I’ve never had to run away from a guest….until this wedding. HAHA!
