This is one of my favorite blogs of the whole year. Don’t get me wrong, I really love all my amazing clients. I love their weddings days, and I love being able to share their story, and their details, and their entire day with all of you, but it’s so fun to be able to see behind the scenes!
This year is especially fun to see because it’s almost like you get the fast track view of this growing baby belly of mine. I know that with a second child, women tend to start showing sooner than with a first pregnancy, and I really felt like I was 30 weeks pregnant from the get go, but it was fun to see how that really wasn’t the case, and that I did indeed get larger than I was in the beginning. HA!
This past month, I was going over my business plan from last year and checking out my goals, and what I had planned for the year (both business and personal), and how everything panned out for Misty C. Photography in 2017, and I was overwhelmed!! I’m SO stinkin’ blessed that I get to work with some amazing people every year and this one will be a hard one to beat! I had a goal to shoot 12 weddings, and I shot 14. I became friends with 28 incredible people, you guys!! Not only that, I got to give them images that they will get to relive their wedding day over and over, and that’s so stinkin’ rad. Their grandkids will get to laugh at all our crazy hair styles, and dress styles, and, heck, let’s be honest, that we used cameras to take photos probably. I love that.
I don’t think I would change anything about 2017, except maybe the fact that I shot half these weddings with morning sickness. If I could, I would have definitely gotten rid of that. HA! But even with my nasty morning all day sickness (just callin’ it what it was), and with all the crazy smoke we had, and the hottest summer I can remember, 2017 will be one for the books.
To all my 2017 couples, I can’t even say it enough. THANK YOU!!! Thank you for allowing me to capture you guys on one of the happiest days of your lives! Thank you for sharing your families, and laughing, and crying (ok, maybe I did most of the crying), and dealing with some of my crazy games…ehem, the nose game… and making this crazy dream of mine come true. I couldn’t do it without the support from you guys!
To my 2018 couples….I’m comin’ for ya! đ
AND. Of course I have to shout out to my second shooters from the year! Thanks SO much for getting these fun shots! This post isn’t possible without you guys!!! đ Thanks to Tammi, Bre, Sarah R., Sarah C., Magali, and Jordann!! I love you all!
My first wedding of the year was with these two lovely people!! Shanna and Joe’s GORGEOUS FivePine Lodge Wedding in Sisters, Oregon was seriously SO much fun. I don’t shoot winter weddings often, but this was one that I just couldn’t say no to! Their’s was one of two weddings this year that I didn’t have a second shooter with me, but we were lucky enough to have a groomsmen get a shot of us together! This was a fun day!
And this shot just makes me laugh. SO so hard.
These next shots were from Sean and KP’s beautiful Thai-American wedding at Promise Gardens in Pasco, WA. Their day was so perfect, and I even got to be a part of their water ceremony after their wedding ceremony. So cool!
These two were SO fun!
Next up, Jorden and Jeanette’s Shadow Lake Ranch wedding in Prosser, WA. This was one of THE HOTTEST weddings I’ve shot, to date. And I was dealing with some unfortunate morning all day sickness. As long as I was moving and busy and didn’t have time to think about it, but come the ceremony, I felt like I might die. Luckily, I pulled through it, didn’t melt, and we had the best time!
Notice my giant water bottle, and fan on my bag….
And ALLLLLL the hair flips.
ALL of them. HAHAHAHA!
I figured out I direct with my hands a ton. See more…
These were from Adam and Jessica’s Elk Haven Equestrian Center Wedding In Cle Elum. I’ve known Adam for basically forever now, and it was fun being a part of their special day!
Look! I learned that if I was hot, to put my hair up so no crazy hair flips were needed. HA!
Directing again…
ANNNND those are my hands….in their cake. They needed help and Jessica told me to get in there. So I did. HA!
Adam wasn’t too sure.
I don’t usually stick my hands in people’s cakes. Just to clear that up.
This one was another scorcher. Dana and Terri’s amazing Warm Springs Inn Wedding in Wenatchee was SO precious. They combined their families and threw one heck of a party with their best friends!!
Sweetest people ever.
I LOOOOOVED this wedding. Bryan and Olivia’s Onalaska wedding was everything my dreams are made of. They had the CUTEST reception set up…you should probably go check out their full post after this!
Veil remover extraordinaire!
Pine River Ranch in Leavenworth is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE venues, and I loved being out the with Matt and Kelsey this summer!
After a crazy July, I only had one August wedding, and it was a good one! Josh and Kendra’s Barn at Blue Meadow Wedding was great, even the short little cloud burst before the ceremony.
I was checking out the llamas across the street.
Busted the drone out on one of the weddings that wasn’t blowing 30+ mph.
My second Shadow Lake Ranch Wedding of the year was Chris and Whitney. I just love these two!!!
Talking with my hands this time….
Dress fluffer: level expert.
Bobby pin fixer: level expert.
Then we had Armin and Kendall’s AMAAAAAZING Terra Blanca Winery Wedding in Benton City. You could REALLY start to see this little growing human in these ones.
I have NOOOO idea what I was trying to have them do….
Crazy faces are necessary.
I hardly EVER show my clients the back of my camera, just because we’re humans and like to pick ourselves apart, but I couldn’t NOT show these two how amazing they looked.
Miss Jordann being the best light test subject out there!
Playing in the wine cellars…
This was my double header weekend, and I ended it with Cody and Brooke’s backyard wedding in Wenatchee. Don’t judge me for wearing the same thing two days in a row…i washed it. I promise!
My final September wedding was with Mali and Billy at Ohme Gardens! It was such a special day!!!
Making faces at people…what’s new? HA!
Creepin’ in the trees…
Trying not to fall down the stairs…
….getting all up in their business…
Last, but certainly not least, Jason and Andrea’s Namu Lodge wedding!!! So dang awesome!
I can’t hide this belly anymore…but fortunately i’m like past the point of people wondering if i’m actually pregnant or just fat….AHA!!
Talking about sock puppets…it’s NBD.
Another awesome face by me.
Seriously, this year was so dang fun. I’m bummed that I won’t be working with as many awesome couples, but I’m SO looking forward to serving the ones I do have!!!! đ
