I can’t believe today is the last of this series for now! We all know how the old adage goes- “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…” and today we are on the last item. Last but certainly not least, something blue is meant to stand for fidelity, purity, and love, so let’s see 7 fun something blue items for brides.

7 Fun Something Blue Items for Brides

1. One of my favorite ways to add in something blue on your wedding day is blue shoes!!! These Mischka Bagley shoes would make anyone feel like a queen (though I wouldn’t recommend these if your ceremony is in the grass).

2. I loved how this bride took her childhood blankie and had a heart of fabric from it sewn into the inside of her dress! It was such a thoughtful piece to her wedding, and love it! It doesn’t have to be an old blankie though. It could be a blue handkerchief of your grandfather’s or even just an embroidered hologram of your name in blue thread.

3. Your something blue doesn’t have to be something everyone can see. You can wear some blue frilly panties and keep it a secret (just make sure you can’t see them through your dress!! Yikes!). 😉

4. Mix it up a little, and wear blue fingernail polish, or blue eyeshadow. I know what you’re thinking though, and it doesn’t have to be cobalt blue like the 80s, but it could be if you wanted! It’s your wedding!!!

5. You could use a blue ribbon for your bouquet! Either to wrap around the entire thing or just as an accent.

6. You could wear blue jewelry. A sapphire or blue topaz earrings or ring, just make it you!

7. Your blue doesn’t even have to be on you! You could choose for your bridesmaids to wear a blue dress! I don’t know about you, but i’m kind of loving Pantone’s 2016 Colors of the Year! “Serenity” is a soft pastel blue and I can’t wait to see weddings that feature it!
