This Wahluke High School Senior session was definitely one to be remembered! We saw something we couldn’t unsee, and hung out in the sketchy parts of Beverly for a short time and then high tailed it out of there.

The Session

Eli is a beautiful girl, and I was so happy when she asked me if I had time to shoot her senior photos! We set up a time and date, and I completely managed to forget that day light savings time was going to happen a few days before the session. We planned on starting at 7 AM before school, and the lighting was going to be gorgeous! I couldn’t wait!

Fast-forward to the day before the shoot and I made sure my alarm was set, and nothing was going to stop me then. I had a pretty good nights sleep, until my hubby woke me up at 7:10 and said “weren’t you supposed to be there 10 minutes ago!?” I woke up, “SERIOUSLY!?!?!?!” I hopped out of bed, threw my hair into a better pony tail, threw some clothes on and my camera bag in the car, and texted Eli that I was running behind because I had just woke up! Talk about a crazy morning! Luckily for us, the sun wasn’t even up yet, and by the time we got to our first location, it had -sort of- made it’s way over the horizon.

I keep forgetting that it’s not summer anymore and to advise my seniors to dress accordingly. Eli had super cute outfits, but they were definitely more fitting for summer weather, but she toughed it out!! She may have been freezing, but you would never know by the way she rocked it! I was a shivering mess, but she was one tough cookie!

We started out session around some of the local potato packing sheds. I love the grey building around there and the backdrop that they give us!! After we got tired of creepy people watching us we decided to head to our next location that was a little more rural, and we froze there. I was hoping that the sun would be over the mountain by then, but it definitely was not, and it was super cold that morning. We got the shots we wanted, and then headed closer to the suns warmth. After our few shots by No Wake Lake in Beverly, we ended up at the old fire station in Beverly. When we got there, there was a cute doggy on the front step of the building, and though I love doggies, I was a little hesitant of this one. He didn’t get up and just stared at us like he wanted to eat us. After a few minutes, he headed over our direction and that’s when we saw it! His poor back leg had been gashed open. Like WIDE open. It was disgusting, and then it peed all over my tires, so we hurried and got the shots we wanted and then got the heck out of dodge. It was kind of sketchy, but we survived, and we got some SUPER CUTE shots in the process, even if I might have had nightmares after we saw the dogs leg. With photos like this, I think it was worth it. 🙂

The Senior

Eli is a cheerleader at WHS, and is also active in FBLA and honors band. Next year, she wants to go to a four year university, and study in the counseling field. Whatever this girl does, she’s going to be great at it!!

Congrats Eli! I can’t wait to see where you go after your final year of high school!
