Vantage Crags Engagement Session
Friends are one of the best things a girl can have, especially when they introduce you to the man of your dreams! That’s how Matt and Mikael’s story started out. They initially met up with some friends at Joe’s Log Cabin in Wenatchee for a few beers. After that night, they were curious about learning more about each other, and they started to spend more time together. They took time to getting to know each other, became best friends, and as Mikael put it: “the rest is history.”
These two are awesome! Super laid back and easy going. When I asked Mikael what she wants to remember about their relationship right now, she even told me “Just how easy going and relaxed we are, everyone has been surprised how we havenât really been stressed out for the wedding or even as new parents. We both just go with the flow which makes life easier.” They told me that they usually just stay home, garden, and play with their adorable little nine month old baby boy, but they were up for whatever when it came to locations for their engagement session. This made the photographer in me get giddy! You mean I get to pick WHEREVER I want!? Oh man. Theses guys are SO awesome that they pretty much drove all the way to the boonies to do it! Let’s be honest. They’re pretty great!
Our first location, we got eaten alive by the biggest mosquitoes I have seen, like, EVER. Being that I used to work for mosquito control, that’s saying something. These guys were like Amazon sized, and kind of vicious. Some how, we made it out of there unscathed, and without too many mosquito bites, however, I do have one on my arm that is itching as I type this. Dumb bugs. I just loved the way the trees looks in this location, and knew we had to at least get some here!
How cute are they, am-i-right!?!
Once we were sick of getting eaten alive, we just drove down the road away to our next spot. I was a little perturbed because when I had scouted my location, there weren’t any campers out, and it didn’t even cross my mind that there would be in the specific area that I wanted to shoot at next. With some strategic placement of myself and my adorable subjects, we were able to get some awesome shots without all the crazy campers on the cliffs behind them! đ
We got the shots I wanted to get most out of this location, and we continued on down the road. The last spot we went to had the PERFECT lighting, and an awesome view. It’s a place around Vantage that rock climbers come to climb some pretty scary courses, known as the Feathers! If you are every around the area, you should check it out! It’s pretty amazing!
They are SO cute together!
Thanks again Matt & Mikael for taking the time to come out with me, and get some awesome shots! I can’t wait for your summer wedding!!! đ
