Getting able to get close to my bride and grooms is one of the most fun parts of my job! But when I get close to them and they trust me enough to have me document their best friend’s family, now that tugs at my heart strings and makes me get all the warm and fuzzies.
I shot Amy and Mike’s wedding just a little over a year ago, and was able to meet his best friend (and best man) Shaun. We all spent the day together celebrating the union of the two of them, and we had a great time!! It really is hard to believe that it was just over a year ago. Man, how things can change!
Last spring, Amy had gotten in touch with me about getting a family session for the Scotts for a gift in the spring time, and I LOVED the idea! I think that gifting a photo session is one of the best things you can give someone! Who doesn’t want to remember their family at different stages in their life! There was only one problem. The Scotts were about to have a baby, and we didn’t know what would work best for them. Though we thought that we could make something work in the spring, our lives were just crazy and we ended up waiting until this fall. Well, the fall over in the Seattle area has been as rainy as our fall over here in central Washington and we thought we were going to luck out on the weather, but the rain came. It rained almost the entire session, but we managed to find some covered areas and trees to help stay out of the rain, and then they were troopers and just donned some rain gear and embraced it! We walked through the cutest little shops in Snohomish and watched their little guy jump in puddles. It was adorable.
And as soon as we got done with the session, the clouds rose, the rain stopped, and we just had to laugh because that’s kind of how life is with kids. Always unpredictable.
