I really don’t sit at home very well, like ever. After a few days, I start to get antsy and I feel like I need to be doing something. That’s kind of how this Lake Wenatchee Engagement Session Scouting trip happened. Me and Raylee were just sitting at home, I kept thinking about a super fun engagement session that I’m going to be doing at Lake Wenatchee this week, and then I thought about how I never had actually been up there. I’ve been close, like 5 miles away close, but never actually made the trip to see the lake, so that was that. It was happening. I texted my hubby to see if I was crazy for wanting to drive up there. He made sure I knew there might be snow, and I was hoping there was [there wasn’t]. I packed up Raylee’s diaper bag, put on some jeans and boots, and we were off.
It takes about 2 and 1/2 hours to get up there, but the drive was pretty uneventful. Raylee played Toca Boca on her Ipad Mini, I listened to the audiobook of Outlander, and we drove and drove and drove. We have to go through Wenatchee to get up there and it was almost lunch time, but when I asked Raylee if she wanted lunch, she said no. Who’s daughter is she?! I decided we would just get lunch after. We headed out towards Plain, but I didn’t realize there are two entrances for the lake. One is mainly for camping, i’m guessing, and the other for like swimming and the boat launch. Well we went to the camping side first only to find out that they’re all closed this time of year. Luckily, it was only about 2 miles from the other entrance to the lake. We drove to the State Park with the boat launch and then I saw it, for the first time, in all it’s glory. 🙂
It’s SO gorgeous out there! I couldn’t help but think of how much prettier it will be with snow up on the mountains and on the trees! I’m so dang excited! 🙂
We didn’t go exploring too far, because I couldn’t get past how perfect the little beach was. I let Raylee throw some sticks in the water, she did what she does best and played in the sand/rocks, but then it was time to go because I could see her poor little hands turning pink along with her nose, and her lips turning a slight tinge of purple. It was kind of like torture getting her back into the car. That crazy girl wants to be outside ALL day, everyday. I’m worried that come winter, we’re both going to lose our minds. We’ll have to think of other adventures for the two of us. 🙂
