This Kennewick Christmas Inspired Couple Shoot was such a blast. My models were amazing, we really lucked out on the weather, and we had so much fun!
I first met Claire when I was looking for someone to create paper products like invitations and menus during the planning for my Eagle Lakes Ranch Styled Wedding shoot. She makes up the Wilkerson in ‘Wilkerson & White’ from that shoot. I loved their work so much that I asked them to be in another styled shoot shortly after that one, but due to some unfortunate events, that shoot wasn’t able to work out. Claire and her business partner worked so hard getting not one, but THREE invites all created for me in time, with their crazy full-time jobs in the mix. I felt so bad that we didn’t get the shots of those gorgeous invites (we will do it one of these days!) that I wanted to do something for them!
I’ve had this kind of crazy idea since the weather has been changing to do a fun Christmas inspired shoot, but Claire really had the best ideas! She’s so creative!! I pitched her the idea of doing a fun wintery shoot, and she came up with the idea of starting at a tree farm, picking out a Christmas tree, and then they could decorate the tree, have some hot cocoa (or peppermint mocha), we would get some super cute photos of them, their dog, Shooter, AND their super cool old VW bug!
The Monday before the shoot, I met up with Claire at her house, and finally got to meet her husband Chad. We laughed about their crazy foster dog, Thor, talked about hunting, and managed to get the ideas and locations for the shoot nailed down! I was a little worried leading up to it because the weather was supposed to be rainy and cloudy, but the day before the shoot that all changed. We were just supposed to have clouds and a little breeze, but it was supposed to be in the 40s! YAHOO! It really couldn’t have turned out any better, except that we had to do a little improvising when it came to location.
When we got to our final location where they were going to decorate the tree and have their hot cocoa, it turned out that there was a big bicycle trail race or something! The parking lot was packed, and there were cyclists zooming by constantly. We even saw a pretty sweet wreck! HA! We managed to find a place to set the tree up that wasn’t in the middle of the trail and got some adorable shots.
These two made my job so easy. They’re great at being cute together, and I hardly had to tell them what to do. I laughed until my stomach hurt, and I couldn’t be happier with the photos I have for them!
Thanks again for coming out with me guys! 😀 Hope you had a good breakfast afterwards!
