Well, I kicked off 2020 with a BANG, and ended up with this gorgeous Fontaine Estate Winery Wedding the first weekend of the year! I get spoiled when I get to shoot weddings in the winter time around here. We had worried about the weather because the week prior it was calling for below freezing temps and snow, but low and behold, we would luck out and have a gorgeous winter day. It was a bit windy, and with that came wind chill, but Justin and Jordan were pros when it came to photos in the freezing cold (remember their engagement session) and never complained once about the crazy wind. It was really just a great day.
Prep time was full of special notes, a gift to Justin from Jordan that he won’t soon forget, a sweet letter from Jordan to her dad that she had written in high school and saved for this special day, a few tears, and so much joy. You could practically FEEL the happiness in the air from everyone that these two were getting married.
Their ceremony was the perfect combination of prayers for the couple, a great message from their pastor to keep Christ in the center of their marriage, and even a little magic trick from Justin’s best man for the ring. Who knew Trevor was a magician- the old ring behind the ear trick. SO great! HA! At the beginning of the day, they had told me that during rehearsal, Justin was a little lack-luster when it came to their big kiss- something about kissing his finger and putting it on her cheek- but he didn’t hold back when it came to the real thing, and they were officially husband and wife!
Because sunset is so early this time of year, after we got their marriage license signed, we snuck off for their sunset/just married portraits right away so they could get to partying the night away!! I’m ALWAYS grateful for my couples when they’re willing to step away for a few minutes to get some of my favorite shots of all wedding days. The light was gorgeous, the wind had died down a bit, and Jordan had a gorgeous cathedral veil that she specifically had for photos. SO WORTH IT, guys! We slid them back into the venue, and then we partied with yummy food, pies, and some of the best dancing this side of the mountains. It was a great day.
Justin and Jordan- THANK YOU!! Thanks for letting me get to know you guys, get to be a part of your wedding day, and get to celebrate along side you! Although i’m entirely jealous you’ll be in Maui when you read this, I am so grateful for you! Have the BEST time honeymooning!!
