It’s safe to say that we had a pretty great Christmas around here. We spoiled Raylee WAY too much, I surprised Justin with a new shot gun that he’s wanted since we got married (6 years ago), and I got a few new awesome things myself. We spent time with family, and ate way too much food. We got to walk through Bethlehem in our sweet little town to help us remember our Savior. It was just great.

Our New Years was pretty uneventful. I went up to Suncadia to shoot a super fun couple ice skating (see their cuteness here) and then headed home around lunch time to just chill at home with the family. Me and Justin stayed up until 10:30 watching a movie, drank a bottle of Martinelli’s, and then went to bed. We’re pretty crazy around here these days.

These first few days of the new year have been pretty great. We went to church, spent more time with family, and it’s just been good. But if this year is going to go anything like these first two days things might be, well, a little interesting.

This morning I woke up thinking that I had somewhere to be. But I don’t. I kept having crazy dreams that woke me up all night, and I didn’t go to bed until after midnight because I started washing our sheets and forgot to put them in the dryer until 11. And yes, we only have one set of sheets. HA. I woke up, did my normal morning routine, and then Justin (who was still in bed) got a phone call. I didn’t know who it was, but I knew he was going to be doing something, and soon. He got off the phone and told me he was going coyote hunting with his friend Ryan, and soon. He jumped out of bed, and started getting dressed.

Mind you, I told myself that I probably should put on clothes. I knew Ryan was coming over, but they live about 15 minutes away so I wasn’t too worried. I let our dog Blitz out to go potty, and then went back to the bathroom to put my contacts in. Turned out that I had missed putting my left contact away in the case and it was crispy on the counter so I had to dig for my new contacts and get a new one. By this time, I heard Blitz barreling back in the house. I walked out of the bathroom, into our kitchen to close our back door and then it happened.

A man in camo was standing at the backdoor. AHHHHHH! I covered myself best I could (remember: I never got dressed and was still in my underwear), and ran back to my room screaming. At first I didn’t realize what was happening, but then my consciousness came back and I realized the man was my hubby’s friend Ryan, and the back door had been open because Blitz came back inside so he probably just walked right in. I laughed, put clothes on, then walked back out to the kitchen.

How. Freaking. Embarrassing. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

I’m still laughing about it.

This year may have started with a bang, literally-our neighbors were shooting off fireworks, and it definitely hasn’t been a boring year, and we’re only two days in.

I may have had one of those “most embarrassing moments” too early into the year, but life is like that sometimes. When everything is going pretty good, something has to happen to remember you’re still a human, you still have feelings, you can still be mortally embarrassed, and you know what? Life still goes on. I can’t wait to work with some AMAZING couples this year. I can’t wait to possibly embarrass myself in front of them, though hopefully with more clothes on than this morning! And I can’t wait to love my clients even more! This year is going to be a great one!

Now that you heard all about how crazy that morning was, you can get a little glimpse into our Christmas morning. 🙂
