This Desert Engagement session was a dream!!! We may have had to switch our location a few times because of crazy wind, but these two took it in stride, and we ended up having the best time!

Jessica is actually the sister of my bride, Jeanette, and a few months back, I had an engagement session giveaway!! I was so excited when Jessica was the winner, and I knew that our session was going to be AWESOME! We wanted to wait until it was a bit warmer (my giveaway was this winter and after our crazy snowmagedon that lasted MONTHS, we decided we didn’t want that!), and I think it was absolutely for the best! There’s something pretty awesome that happens in central Washington in the beginning of spring. Along with our crazy winds, you also get quite a bit of thunderstorms. With those thunderstorms, you get quite a bit of rain, and normally things are pretty green, but because of our wet fall, and SUPER wet winter, things are even more green than normal. Driving between my house and Yakima is like going through the hills of Ireland! It’s so dang green and gorgeous!

Initially, I thought that we would go to Palouse Falls for Mike and Jessica’s session, but after I did some location scouting the Monday prior, I decided that there would probably be WAY too many people on the Saturday after spring break there. I went on Monday, and the parking lot was crazy, and I barely was able to find one parking spot. I knew that things were just as green around my house, and that we could get the same look, without having to dodge other people, and they were up for it!

These two have been together since her roommate decided to have a get-together at her house one night. Jessica had planned on having a quiet night alone at home, but her roomy had other plans. She had invited some friends over, and Mike ended up coming by with some of his friends. They started talking and she told me “he wasn’t anything like I was expecting. He was charming, funny, and a gentleman.” They ended up talking the whole night, and exchanging numbers and they have been together ever since.

I hadn’t met these two in person until the day of our session, but from the beginning, I could just tell that these two absolutely love each other. They’re planning a small, family wedding ceremony down in Mexico that sounds like it’s going to be amazing, and I’m SO happy for them!
