Dallin & Chandra’s rustic backyard Kennewick wedding was one of the most beautiful I have gotten to be a part of. The sun was setting right as the ceremony was starting, the temperature dropped to a pleasant 70(ish) degrees, and you could see the love between the two of them, even if they had to awkwardly stare at each other for 15 minutes. 😉 You can tell they are truly each others’ best friends, and that they love spending time with each other.
I knew since the first time that we met that we were going to mesh perfectly. You can check out their super fun engagement session here! They are a fun couple, and were just ready to be married, after being together since they dated in high school. The time had come.
I can’t believe all the hard work that went into their wedding. Chandra and her mom spend months going to garage/yard sales finding the perfect teacups for the reception decor, and her friends and family helped make all the tissue paper flowers. They did most of the decor by themselves and did an amazing job! One thing I couldn’t believe they made was their mason jar chandelier. It really turned out awesome, and everyone was so impressed by it. I do have to thank the vendors that were a part of it, though. They did an amazing job in their niche.

I started the day with Chandra and her family getting ready. Chandra was just getting her makeup finished when I showed up to shoot details. She is a gorgeous girl, and her hair and makeup made her even more beautiful. I worked on the smaller details and then it was time for the dress. When I walked in the room with it, I was AMAZED! It’s gorgeous lace and sweetheart neckline…it was PERFECT and fit like it was made for her. I was very excited to get the little details of the dress. It was stunning!
After the details shots it was time to start heading over to have Dallin & Chandra’s first look, but not before we had one with her dad. I think his face says it all. Being a daddy’s girl, these moments always get to me. 🙂
Then we were off to the wedding location. I could tell Chandra’s nerves were kicking in. When I showed up to shoot a few shots of Dallin getting ready, I let her sit in my car (so she didn’t melt outside in the crazy-hot September weather) and let the anticipation build even more. I got the groom and it was time for the big reveal. Dallin’s face was ADORABLE when he saw his bride for the first time and you could tell they were both excited and happy, and it was a fun moment to be a part of.
Like I said, the ceremony was beautiful: the bride walking down the isle towards the base of two willow trees as the sun was setting. It really doesn’t get much better than that. They vowed to be husband and wife, and then celebrated with friends and family in the groom’s family’s hand-made barn. It was a beautiful location, some great people, and a perfect day!
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Oakes. Enjoy married life! 😀
