I work all the time in Ellensburg, and I have shot quite a few weddings that way, but I know it’s always going to be a good time when I get a McIntosh Ranch Wedding. You might remember these two from their engagement session at Olmstead Place last year. We had way too much fun laughing, and joking around and I knew their wedding day was going to be EPIC. It was. There were laughs, a good roast bout of killer toasts during the reception, and some tears, but an all around amazing day.
I got to Mcintosh Ranch and the girls were finishing prep. Both these two had gotten each other a set of dice for their wedding gift to each other. I loved that! I shot some details, and we got these two ready for their first look.
My first looks have been killer this year, and this one was no difference. You could just see Forrest’s face light up once he saw his beautiful bride! We cruised through their portraits, laughed too hard during bridal party and then it was time to get them married.
One absolutely precious piece to this wedding was the tribute to Gemma’s mother. She lost her mom back in 2012, and I’m no stranger to those feelings. They saved a seat for her at the ceremony with the family’s tartan, her photo, and her favorite drink- Jameson. So special.
Their ceremony was the sweetest! They had a hand fasting ceremony with Forrest’s mom doing the tying, and then did their vows privately after the ceremony. I loved that they kept their vows private, and I might have been creeping on them while the did it. Even though I couldn’t hear what they vowed each other, I did see a few tears shed, and a huge hug after. They must have been good! 🙂
With lawn games, a tasty pasta dinner, some great toasts and ALLLLLL the dancing, it’s safe to say their reception was the perfect way to end the day! We got to hear some funny stories about these two from their parents and siblings during their toasts. We laughed, we cried, we remembered those that they had lost, and embraced the fact that they found each other during some rough times in their lives. I never expect it, but I also got a shout out during their thank yous, and that always makes my “words of affirmation” love-language heart burst. So grateful for these two!
Forrest and Gemma- I’m so grateful you guys met each other when you did, that you love each other so fiercely, and that your family supports you so much. I’m excited to see what else you guys accomplish together, and wish you all the best!! Thanks for letting me get to know you guys, and celebrate with you, your friends, and your families! Love you guys! Congrats again!
