I always love shooting at new wedding venues, and this Barn at Blue Meadows wedding was definitely one for the books! They’re not only new to me, but they’re new to this whole crazy wedding thing! Josh and Kendra’s wedding was the first wedding they have had, and it all turned out so good!
The Barn at Blue Meadows is tucked away in the hills of Dayton, WA and is the cutest little rustic venue for anyone looking for something different! I was so excited when I saw their adorable reception barn, along with the ceremony site overlooking a little pond. It’s perfect, and I could see why Kendra and Josh picked it, even if it was a little out of way! 🙂
As I was trying to decide what I wanted to say about this wedding, I was again overwhelmed by how awesome this job is, and how amazing my couples are. I love that week after week, I get to document the beginning of a family, and the new chapter in my couple’s relationship! They’re all so different, and I’m continually amazed by the creativity of my brides!
When I first met with Kendra and Josh, we talked all about them! What they like to do, how they met, how he proposed, all those good details. What I couldn’t get past was that they went through a year of not seeing each other. Josh was deployed to Romania, and I can’t even imagine how hard that was both of them. These two pulled it off, and it was pretty obvious how they did it. They’re best friends, and love each other SO much. Whether it’s going out hunting or staying at home watching movies, they can always find something to laugh about.
There were so many cute details for their wedding!! The bridal details are ALWAYS some of my favorites. I love to see what my bride’s have chosen to help pull everything together on their big day! As always, that’s where we started the day, along with the girls getting ready. Next up was the boys. Kendra and Josh decided to go the more traditional route and not see each other until the ceremony so we had planned to take photos of the groomsmen, and the bridal party separately before the ceremony to help keep things on time after the ceremony. Mother nature had different ideas. It started pouring as we were finishing up with the groomsmen photos so we all hurried inside, and decided to hold off on the bridal party until after. I’m glad we did! It didn’t rain for long, but it was quite a bit. They do say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, though!
Next up was the ceremony. Kendra’s great-grandpa officiated which was so special, and I loved Josh’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time. Kendra kept joking with him for weeks leading up to the wedding that he “better cry,” and he didn’t disappoint anyone. It was the sweetest. With some sweet words in their personal vows, planting a tree together, and a kiss, they were finally husband and wife, and then the party started and it didn’t stop until late into the night.
I loved being a part of this special day for these two and I loved being able to document the little details to help them remember them for years and years to come!! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Hall!!!!!
