It may have been a bit smoky from the horrible fires that are tearing through our state with these Kittitas Engagement photos, but that didn’t seem to affect these two. When we showed up, I was telling them how I had heard from a fellow photographer that she was photographing some clients who HATED P.D.A. and how bad she felt that the pictures didn’t seem like they were connecting much, and Staci pointed and Justin, we all laughed, and then he totally proved that wrong! You can tell that these two really love each other, and they’re dang cute in the process!
The Beginning
It all started with your average night on the town in Ellensburg. Justin was hanging out with his friends, and Staci was with hers. As Staci tells, he had tried to talk to her earlier in the night, but she blew him off. Later, a friend gave him a pair of crutches that this friend had been playing with throughout the night, and Staci started giving Justin a hard time, calling him a faker, and saying that he really didn’t need them. Turns out, Justin had been in a horrible car accident, and really did need those crutches. He proved to her that he really did need them by showing off some battle scars, and they have been together ever since!
When they are both not working, they spend most of their time together, like best friends would. They love spending time with their son, Haze, who is one of THE cutest little boys I’ve ever seen! Both of them say that he is one of their greatest accomplishments, how cute is that!?!
The Proposal
So let’s get to the good part. I’ve already told you they spend quite a bit of time together, but let’s talk the proposal. When I got the story the first time from Staci, it gave me all those mushy feeling that you get when you hear a cute proposal story. 🙂
Justin had planned this super romantic proposal, but NOTHING went as planned. They were going to borrow a friends side by side and go up into the hills, but it was broken down! Luckily, they were able to find a friends’ that they could borrow. They were headed to Whistling Jacks outside of Naches, but two hours into the trip, a forest ranger made them turn around and go back because the side by side wasn’t registered. Since that plan didn’t work out, they headed back to his parents house and took the truck instead.
When they got to their cabin that he had rented for the weekend, Justin had to “use the bathroom.” Staci started exploring around the cabin, meanwhile, Justin was hiding the ring inside for easy access! (Sneaky boy!). By the time Staci got back from wondering around the cabin, Justin had successfully hidden the ring. He offered her some wine, but had to get the bottle that was sitting in the fridge with two glasses, and the ring. He was going to propose right then, but Staci was too fast! She had poured her own glass of wine, and started drinking it. He had to do a bit of quick thinking at that point!
Once she had finished her wine, he offered to get her more, but this time, he came out with the ring.
Justin got down on one knee, and with a shakey voice, asked Staci to be his wife. Of course she said yes!!
The Engagement Session
And that brings us to their engagement session. We had a great location with some old red barns, and we couldn’t have lucked out more with no wind that evening! We had a great time, and lots of laughs, and i won’t make you wait any longer! Here they are:
The future Mr. & Mrs. Henderson, and their little boy, Haze.
