This Season has been kind of tough for me! It’s my slow season because it’s winter and it’s freezing, but I also have two winter weddings this year so I’ve just been anxiously awaiting those to blog! In the mean time, I’ve been scouring the recesses of my brain to think of what the heck I can blog during the week. The week before Christmas I even took a week off blogging because I was getting a headache trying to think of just WHAT to blog. I felt like blogging three times a week was just too much so for about a month, I was only blogging twice a week. That was nice, but I then felt kind of empty. I needed that one more blogging day in my life. Here we are today and I wanted to give you guys out there 6 topics to blog during your slow season.

You may have already blogged something similar to thing, but maybe it’s a topic that you could revisit. Maybe your business has changed drastically and it’s something you can revamp and make even better! I just know it helped me a ton when I came up with these!

Write a Letter to Yourself

This can be a letter to your past self talking about the things you wish you would have known, or a positive thing looking back on all you have accomplished, but it can also be a letter to your future self. It can be a list of things you hope to accomplish, or what you hope you remember 5 years from now. It can be encouragement, or talking about your hardships, or ANYTHING. The trick is to just get that written down. Then 5 years from now, you can look at it and bring back all those feels! 🙂

Write Out Your Goals

6 topics to blog during your slow season journal it out

I just did this myself! I have found that when I don’t write down goals, it’s almost like they’re not real. I remember I sorta wanted to do something having to do with waterfalls this last year, but I never wrote of my goals down at the beginning of the year, so while I get to see some amazing waterfalls this year, I don’t remember exactly what I wanted out of that experience. It’s more fun to be able to check off those goals when you do accomplish them, and it makes you feel good too! It also helps you stay more accountable when you put those suckers out on the interweb! Then your blog-reading friends can help celebrate right along with you when you do reach those suckers!

Solve a Problem

This can be SO many different things. You can help out your brides, your family, your friends, or even yourself. If you know how to make the best homemade bread recipe in the world and it’s super easy, write a blog post with the recipe! (I need that!) If you’re like me and love to help your brides when it comes to figured out their timeline for their wedding day, write a blog for all those tips and tricks that you have learned over the course of shooting weddings to help make their wedding day run without a hitch! If you know the perfect song to get ready to in the morning to help jazz yourself up, share that! This post can be about anything!

Favorite Wedding Vendors

This is one of my personal favorites! I love to feature some of my favorite wedding vendors on my blog! Two years ago, I spent time going to different wedding venues that I was dying to work at and talked to them about how they started, what makes the unique, and a few other questions so I could share all about them on here. I gained those relationships with those venues, and it gave me some killer blog content. It doesn’t have to be venues though. It can be your favorite florist, or caterer, or bakery! You can even throw in a few new head shots for them as well! 🙂

Write a Thank You Note to Your Readers

It takes time to read blogs. I know that I get sucked into them all the time. I find a blog post I love, and pretty soon i’m lost into the abyss of the interweb. It doesn’t take too much effort on my part. So why not thank those readers? It let’s them know that you know they are there, and that they’re listening. And it may even keep them coming back if they know you care!

Blog Topic Ideas

OR you can take a cue from my book and write all about different blog topic ideas because you don’t know what else to blog about and after doing SO much research and asking friends that you found some awesome topics that you think other will love to know as well! At least that’s what I did! 😉

What are your favorite things to blog about during your slow season? What have you found that works for you?
