I had quite a few goals for this year for my business! Most of them I got the chance to write down, but a few of them came up after I had already written my MAIN goals of 2017, and I never got around to it. One of those goals that I never wrote out was to photograph a proposal, so you can image how excited I was when Matt emailed me about being the photographer for this Columbia Point Park Proposal!
It’s always SO exciting for me when I get to know secrets. Whether it’s knowing that one of my friends is pregnant before everyone else, or knowing that someone is about to be proposed to and they have NO idea, um, yes please! I just stinkin’ love it. It also helps that I’m good at keeping those said secrets. I think the anticipation of knowing it, and knowing that I CAN’T tell anyone makes it even more exciting for me. That’s how it was in this case at least. I got to know all the details of what was going down, when it was going to happen, and I got to be there to photograph the whole thing! 🙂
I feel like more and more my couples are meeting online, and I love that! I think the internet is such an awesome tool, and some of these people would have never known the person they connected with online. Katie is from down in Oregon, and about 6 years ago she moved up to Tri-cities. She swiped right on Matt, and the rest is history. They have been talking quite a bit about getting married, but Katie had NO idea that Matt was going to propose! That was until her co-worker told her that it was definitely happening. Matt told Katie that they were just going to go out to celebrate his new job offer. He told her she could get a new dress, and get her nails done, all of it, so it was absolutely PERFECT! The sun was setting along the river, the weather was nice, and I LOVED being able to document such a fun moment for these two!
Matt really thought of everything, and had Katie’s two best friends from Oregon come up to witness it. Her mom, unfortunately, had to stay down with her father, but they made sure to facetime her so she could witness the whole thing too. It was a special moment! 🙂 After the proposal, we took some shots of just the two of them, and they’re adorable!
Congrats you guys!!! You’re ENGAGED!
