I really do love working with other photographers. I love to see how they go about shooting weddings, how they work their timelines, and when I see something that I like, I make sure to implement that into my own weddings! It also a fun time to get to be a little more creative than just the “safe shots.” This Ritter Farms Wedding was definitely one of those fun ones!
If you missed it a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work with Jessica of J.M.Hunter Photography. She has been incorporating water into a lot of her sessions lately, and this wedding fell right into that same puddle, er, category. 😉
When we showed up for the day, it was pretty nice. It was a little overcast, but it was still fairly warm and just had a few ominous clouds here and there, but we knew that would make for some great photos. We were a little concerned because the weather called for rain practically the whole day. Luckily for us, Ritter Farms has a backup plan to have their ceremonies inside their barn in the case of bad weather. We got all of our pre-ceremony photos taken, and then the flood gates opened up.
Right before we started family formals, it just started pouring, and after looking at the radar, it didn’t look like it was going to let up. Like ever. But bless the brides heart, she said the show must go on. Outside.
The venue hustled their tail, dried off chairs, and sat guests down before the rain could fill up the seat again. There were umbrellas and rain coats, and the bride and groom said i do as the rain poured down like it was celebrating just like the rest of us. The bride and groom were troopers as they were soaked during the ceremony, but luckily they were able to warm back up during their cocktail hour.
One of the things that I always have to remind my brides is just because the weather is crazy, or your friends say you should do something else, if you REALLY want something a certain way, it’s your wedding day. So do it!!! I loved how willing this couple was to tough out the rain! You only live once right? 🙂
Here’s a few of the highlights from the day! 🙂
