It’s definitely been interesting navigating running a social business when we’re supposed to be social distancing. As an extrovert-hugging-people lover, it’s been hard to not give hugs out like free samples from Costco. When I first got to this Prosser Farm wedding, I met up with Dana, Bri’s mom-whom i’ve been emailing throughout their engagement, and knew instantly when I air hugged her that we would hug by the end of the night.
That was kind of a creepy way to start this blog. I digress.
I met Bri and Jake last year at their engagement session in Idaho, and we had the BEST time. I knew that their wedding would be amazing, surrounded by their families as they committed their love to each other. The last few months has been crazy for these two navigating wedding planning during COVID but things came together SO well. They were married at Jake’s grandparent’s farm, and it was SO gorgeous. But it wasn’t without a little craziness.
When I got to the motel, her mom showed me a photo of a sheriff at the farm. I was probably as alarmed as when was when she first got the image! My mind went THERE, as I imaged the sheriff seeing the chairs laid out, telling them it couldn’t happen (thought our Governor has made weddings “religious ceremonies” at this point), but she confirmed to me that was not the case. It was crazier than that. Some man had stolen a car and the sheriffs were on a man hunt trying to get him out of the river. He was swimming, and with the help of some boaters, and the K9 unit, they were working on getting him out of the river. We got a good laugh out of that, and then her mom told me that at Bri’s brother’s graduation, a man came up on the stage and started speaking….and then people realized he wasn’t supposed to be there speaking..HA! So they’re no strangers to a little craziness. What’s a wedding without a fun story, after-all?! HA!
I loved seeing the love these two have for each other again, and I loved seeing their supportive, loving families coming together to support these two. It was a beautiful wedding, and I was honored to be a part of it. Oh, and me and her mom did hug it out at the end of the night. HA!! Thanks for all your help Dana!!!
