If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I love to network with others. I love being able to meet new people, and join our forces together for the greater good. This Clover Island Anniversary session was no different. I was super bummed because we were actually supposed to do it last Saturday. I had gotten a makeup artist lined up for Deidra, I had a babysitter watching my crazy 2 year old, and I had all sorts of errands to run before hand, and then something AWFUL happened.

I was meeting with the manager at Tagaris to see about doing a shoot there, and when I got into the parking lot, once I turned off my car, it started steaming, and spewing water (coolant really) everywhere in my engine compartment. Mind you, I drive a 2014 Ford, not a 1994 Ford, so overheating wasn’t something that my car SHOULD have been doing. It was 106 degrees, but still. That just doesn’t happen anymore. Luckily, my toddler wasn’t in the car with me. That was a blessing. I called my hubby-no answer. I called my dad-no answer. I didn’t know if I should drive my car, or if it would cause more problems, and NO ONE was answering my phones calls! So I did what any girl would do and I started crying. HA! Like sobbing. WOW, I was a mess. I eventually got in touch with my sister, and we decided I should probably just call the dealer and see what they recommend I do. I got in touch with them (mind you, this is all happening about 4 o’clock PM), and then told me not to drive it, but that I should call my emergency roadside assistance from the extended warranty. I got in touch with them and a tow was on the way, but they wouldn’t be there for an hour to an hour and half. Insert PANIC button here. I started thinking that if they weren’t there for another hour, the service place at the dealer would be closed, there was a chance that the rental place would ALSO be closed and I would be stuck there, with no car, and no way home because no one was answering me. Finally, the tow truck came and took me to the dealer, but they were too close to closing time to do anything for me, and I was stuck having to get a rental car. That was a whole other issue because they wanted me to get in touch with my extended warranty company, but by that time it was 5, and they closed at 5….Central time. UGH….it was such a nightmare. Long story short, after 6 days with a rental car, I finally have my car back and I felt like singing “reunited and it feels so gooooood…..” yesterday as I picked it up. One final snag as I go to get it. When they went to bring it up to the doors, the battery was dead. Luckily, they tested it and it checked out, and they most likely just left a light on, but instead of taking 5 minutes to get my car, it was really more like 25 minutes. But it’s over. And I only ended up having to pay the deductible of my warranty, and they took care of the rest. It was SO worth it.

Moving on. Recently I put out a model call for a few couples, and I was lucky enough to get Deidra, of 180 consulting, and her husband to be one of my model couples! I was needing someone who could give me a more formal look for their photos, and these two NAILED it!! I absolutely LOVED getting a chance to get to know and work with them!

Chris and Deidra actually met off Match.com! I have had quite a few couples that I have photographed that have met online, and I think it’s great! It’s so amazing that now we have that ability! The chance to meet our soul mates at a click of a button. That’s pretty awesome! They were married a little over 3 years ago, and it’s pretty obvious that they are still crazy about each other! 🙂 It’s absolutely adorable! They really made my job too easy! They practically read my mind as we worked our ways through poses, and just kept being so dang cute, I kept clicking away.

Thanks Chris and Deidra for being willing to be my models for the day!! I can’t wait to do it again soon! 😀 And a HUGE shout out to Amy Rene Makeup Artistry for killin’ it on Deidra’s makeup! 😀
