I have been anxiously awaiting this Water2wine Wedding! When I first got the inquiry from Greg and Melina, and they told me we would be on the Water2Wine boat for their wedding, I knew I wanted to be a part of it! I’m always impressed when my couples are blending their families, and especially so when they do it as seamlessly as these two have. They were surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and so much love.
We started the day at the gorgeous Lodge at Columbia Point. I am now convinced that is the perfect getting location for any Tri-cities wedding. It’s right off the water, and I don’t think you could find a more beautiful hotel in the area. It was a great way to start the day! Melina’s details were simple, but so beautiful and included a sweet homage to her late mother- her garter- which included her “borrowed” and “blue” items. She wanted to find a way to pay tribute to her mother, and did so in a few thoughtful little ways, that being just one of them. She also had one of the sweetest things I think I’ve ever photographed. A “book” that Greg had written for her.
When they were dating, Greg had written this book called “the girlfriend” for Melina. It was filled with sweet thoughts, poems, like the perfect journal of their relationship. He would write chapters for Melina on special dates like her birthday, anniversary, and Valentine’s day. That was until August, when they were on vacation in Costa Rica. Greg finished the book, but at the end of the chapter he explained why. He told her that he was starting a new book called “The Wife.” With that, he got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. Their kids celebrated with them and they all talked about how excited they were for this new chapter.
I was pretty excited to see a little glimpse of one of Greg’s books that he had written for Melina, and I knew I had to incorporate that into her details since it’s such a big part of them. And so sweet.
After the groom was looking all dapper, and the bride stunning, it was time for them to see each other, but not before a sweet first look with her dad.
Then it was Greg’s turn.
I’ve always loved being on the water, so it was a pretty happy day for me to get to hang out by the docks all day. I loved taking these guys’ photos by the docks!
And we had to get some shots ON the boat!!
I loved that their wedding party was their kids. Greg’s gorgeous daughters were Melina’s bridesmaids, and Melina’s sons and his dad were his groomsmen. They all looks SO good in their navy attire!
Of course, there were some flowers on the chair reserved for Melina’s mother. So special.
Surrounded by their family and friends, they became husband and wife!!
Then had a tasty plated dinner, and danced their way upstairs!
And we had to get some sunset shots on the way back into the marina. It was the perfect ending to one heck of a day.
Greg and Melina, your wedding day was amazing. I could tell how much support you guys have with your families and friends, and your kids really are amazing humans. I’m excited to see what’s next for you guys and what else you can accomplish together! Thank you SO much for allowing me and Bre to celebrate your special days! Congrats!!
