Sometimes it can be intimidating meeting a couple for a first time, especially when I’m like “hey! Hi! I’m Misty! Now pose in front of my camera! Love on each other! Look natural!” HA! BUT, when I know that I have things in common with my couples then it makes it SO much more fun! I knew going into this Suncadia Engagement session we were going to have a blast because I knew I could talk about teeth and motorcycles!

Lucky for me, these two got together thanks to Jeff riding motorcycles. He’s from the west side of the state, and she’s from Eastern WA. Jeff came to this side (the better side….) to ride motorcycles 7 years ago. They ended up going to the same party together afterwards, and something obviously stuck because they have been together ever since! I found out that it was pretty obvious why during their session. These two have a blast together, and keep each other laughing. There were a few points during the session that I put my camera down because I was laughing so hard. Luckily, I didn’t start cry laughing. 😛

We talked about moto-x, my love for Dianna Dahlgren and teeth, and about dental things. Maddi is currently going to dental hygiene school which is 1,000,000x awesome.  So needless to say, it was a blast!

If you’ve been around long enough, you know I love a good proposal story, and I also the little town of Bend, OR. I shot a wedding around there last winter, and had never been there before that. It’s the CUTEST little town, and lucky for these two, it plays a part to how they got engaged….here’s what Maddi said about that perfect day!

“Jeff’s mom works for a hotel so she often gets great room discounts at sister hotels, so we decided to book a room in Bend, Oregon for a night since neither of us had spent much time there. It was kind of a last minute decision since we both wanted to get out of town. On our way there I had fallen asleep in the car, but told him to wake me up when we stopped so I could use the restroom. He woke me up and we were at Smith Rock in Oregon which is a beautiful climbing place one of our friends told us to check out on our way there. I was sleepy from my nap and told Jeff I just wanted to use the restroom and get back on the road so we could get to Bend, but he insisted that we go and walk around to take in the view! I almost ruined my own proposal by wanting to nap, but I gave in and we walked around for a few minutes. After we had seen most of what we could without actually hiking the trails, we started to head back to the car – Jeff was walking behind me. After a few steps I hear him say, “wait I have something I wanted to ask you.” When I turned around he was on one-knee and I was completely shocked and SO happy! We had talked about getting engaged for some time, but I still thought I had at least a year before I would be able to call him my fiancé! It was the best surprise of my life and a weekend I’ll never forget. We celebrated that night by finding a quaint whiskey bar in downtown Bend, in a little booth set near the window at the front of the restaurant secluded from everyone else. We enjoyed some yummy drinks, good food, and each other in that moment! I couldn’t have pictured anything better! I wish I could relive it over and over :)”

After our session together, I’m even more excited to spend their wedding day with these guys this fall! It can’t come soon enough!
