Years ago, if you would have told me I would get the chance to shoot a Settler’s Creek Wedding, I’m not sure I would have believed it. This venue may sound familiar because a few years back, a horrible wildfire came through the area and burned down their beautiful red barn. It was definitely a huge loss for the venue, but what they have done to the place is beautiful as well! I was so excited to get to hang out with Miguel and Sara on such a perfect day!
Couer D’Alene tried to be a little bipolar when it came to the weather. It started raining when I got to the venue, but I wasn’t worried. I knew that the weather was supposed to clear up, and things would end up beautiful, but I didn’t know how perfect it would be! I’ve never seen a group of more supportive groomsmen IN. MY. LIFE. you guys! I usually do pretty well with not crying throughout most of the day, but the more I saw these big, tough men crying, the more and more it got to me. Miguel has some pretty great friends and that was apparent all day.
Sara and her girls got ready upstairs at the venue while the boys had a good time downstairs. It made me laugh when I first got there with two different playlists happening. It was loud, and fun, and it was good representation of how the day would unfold. And about an hour after I got there, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and we were all ready for action!
These two went the way as most of my couples do by going with a first look before the ceremony, but they did something most don’t and they had all their wedding party with them during the first look. The groomsmen got to see Sara before Miguel did, and their reaction was the perfect precursor to get Miguel even more excited to see his bride. They shared that moment with all their friends, lots of cheers, maybe a few tears, and then we hit the ground running with their photos.
Their ceremony was beautiful, and the girls managed to keep it together, but you could see as each groomsmen walked up the aisle, they started crying harder. They were all so happy and proud of these two, and it was the sweetest thing I’ve probably witnessed from a group of groomsmen. SO FREAKIN’ SUPPORTIVE. I was there for it.
They read their personal (and perfect) vows to each other, but not before they got a 4 jet fly-over (unplanned but pretty awesome), then they sealed it with a kiss, and we partied into the night.
Sara- thank you SO much for letting me be a part of this day. I love you guys and your friends, and no matter how many times you and they apologize for being rowdy, it made the day way more fun! 🙂 To the both of you- I’m excited to see what else you guys can accomplish together, and to see even more cute babies in the future! 😉 Congrats!!!!
