It feels so good to be BAAAAAACK! Ha! Guys, I feel like i’ve been gone forever, but I haven’t. I just haven’t been blogging as often as I was last year this time. And you know what?! It’s been amazing. I decided that I threw out a TON of content last spring and instead of double-backing on all of that, I’ll just leave some room for these fun sessions (including this amazing Richland engagement session), and snuggles with my new little guy!
First off, these two are SAINTS! Saints, I tell ya! I had to bring Jackson to this session, and my day with him probably couldn’t have been worse. He was sleeping crappy. He had been sick for a few days. I was struggling with getting him to nurse because his poor little nose was stuffy, and we showed up to this session and he was SO so mad. I tried feeding him, and he wasn’t having it. I tried shooting without feeding him, and he wasn’t having it. I tried feeding him again, it was a little less rough, but FINALLY, after we had been there for 45 minutes, we got to work.
I have since decided that I’m no longer doing even complimentary engagement sessions with Jackson because it’s just TOO DANG STRESSFUL. I hate not being on top of my game, and this little guy throwing a wrench in my plans got me so flustered, but these two were literally SO perfect, and were so sweet about him being a giant turd.
I loved getting to know these two during this session though! Not only were they SO understanding and sweet about baby J, they freaking KILLED it in front of the camera! They made my job SO easy and it made me that much more excited for their wedding this fall!
Cole and Stephanie told me that the way they met wasn’t too romantic. Thanks to some mutual friends, they started hanging out together, but it wasn’t until their first date when they decided to go muddin’ and they got stuck. If you ask Stephanie, they were stuck for 3 hours, but she also had to pee REAL bad. Cole said it was really only like 2 hours, but if you’ve ever been stuck in a pickup in the mud, stuck is stuck, and time goes by SOOOOOOO slow. Luckily, they were able to get to know each other over the course of those 2 (or 3) hours, and things really took off after that.
Their proposal story might knock your socks off though! They headed up to Leavenworth for a weekend this past Christmas to go see the lights!! Stephanie LOVES Christmas lights, and if you’ve never been up to Leavenworth during Christmas time (or if you’ve never heard of it), they deck out the Bavarian Village type buildings in thousands and thousands of Christmas lights! The snow flurries around you (there’s a billion people), and it’s so awesome to see! They were out checking out all the lights, and Cole joked that he kept having to push through a bunch of people, but finally, he got down on one knee, everyone around them moved back to see just what was going on, and he asked Stephanie to be his wife! And she said yes!
She’s a cat person, he’s a dog person, but they really seem to make the perfect pair. And naturally, we had to end the session with Cole’s perty Duramax! So. Dang. Fun. Oh, and her ring!!! It’s probably one of my new favorites! 🙂
