I loved shooting this Rattlesnake Lake Engagement session. Not only for the killer location, but these two were SO much fun. I loved getting to know them more, getting to hear more of their story, and laughing way too much! If you remember a few months ago, I took graduation photos for a sweet girl, Edith, and mentioned that I was going to be shooting her sisters wedding! Well, this is Ana, the sister. 🙂 I loved getting to laugh with those girls during that shoot, and so I just knew that this one would be just as fun.
These two had one night that they were out with friends. They started talking at El Faro where David was with his friend and a cousin, and Ana was with one of her friends. They talked about traveling, and their jobs, maybe had a shot of tequila, and even danced! The restaurant closed, David asked for Ana’s number, and then they raced off to Miners-in a Hyundai and a Prius. The Prius won. They spent a little more time at Miners and then went their separate ways, but David texted her and told her he was happy that he had met her, and that she got home safe. And the rest, as they say, is history! 🙂
They spend a lot of their time together, traveling, trying new food, going to concerts and shows, and spending time with family! It was pretty evident that they love spending time with each other.
It was kind of funny to me, because Ana booked me as her wedding photographer before these two were even engaged! But I absolutely LOVE that. She knew they would be getting married, knew WHEN it was happening, but they wanted to wait until Ana had met David’s family before they were officially engaged. They ended up heading down to Mexico for one of David’s family member’s weddings and Ana was able to meet them all, and celebrate during the wedding. Ana didn’t really know when David would propose. She wondered if it would happen when they were down in Mexico, but then the wedding came and she figured she would just have to wait until they got home, but then something happened. They were all on the dance floor during the wedding, and everyone started handing her red roses. She was confused, and wasn’t sure what was going on, but before she knew it, David was in front of her, down on one knee asking him to marry her! At first she though “Oh no! Did we just hijack their wedding!?” but everyone knew it was happening, and the bride and groom were excited to be a part of it so all was well! They celebrated the night away as fiancees.
Rattlesnake Lake Engagement Session
I’ve been wanting to shoot up at Rattlesnake Lake for a while now. Initially, when I had asked Ana if there was anywhere they loved going together or anything they loved to do, she mentioned camping! I’m not a big camper myself. Not because I don’t enjoy it, but because I don’t like making sure my child doesn’t die for days at a time in the wilderness. HA! But then they mentioned that they usually camped out at Rimrock Lake, and we had originally decided to shoot out there. Unfortunately with all these crazy fires, one being around Naches, I just knew we would be battling crazy amounts of smoke up there so we thought quick and decided to head out to North Bend instead. I would have loved to head up to the Ledge, but seeing that i’m growing this human, I probably would have died. HA! There were so many great locations around the lake that I don’t think we missed too much, though! 🙂 And we didn’t have to deal with as much smoke!
I’m so excited for these guys’ wedding next summer! It’s going to be one amazing day! 😀
