So, I gotta be honest. Being the youngest in my family didn’t give me a whole lot of times around babies. It wasn’t until I was older when my sisters started having babies when I was around them more. I think because of that, babies kind of scared me (though that’s pretty normal for some people). When I started doing newborn photos, I did the whole posed thing. I brought tons of props, wraps, and felt like I needed to spend hours with the babies getting multiple looks. It left me so tired afterwards, and it took SO MUCH TIME. I remember the first time I saw someone doing a lifestyle newborn shoot, and I instantly fell in love. Some beautiful photos of the new baby, their family, and their nursery, I was in for that.
So, when my bestie Alyssa, reached out to me to shoot some lifestyle newborn photos of their sweet new baby Mack, I couldn’t say no. Also because their family is adorable, I knew my job was easy. I also knew he had the cutest little nursery.
It was pretty obvious that their girls love their little brother, but it didn’t stop them from being a little crazy during their family photo portion of our shoot. I had to add a few of those in there because I feel like that’s real life with kiddos.
I’m grateful for friends that let me take their photos, even when it’s definitely not my niche. HA.
