I don’t make my way over to the west side very often, but I was more than happy to for this Laurel Creek Manor Wedding for Troy and Deanna! I wouldn’t say I believe in fate, but something things just work out, ya know!? How I got here is kind of a strange story.
Me and Dee go back. Like WAY back to 2009. I had just gotten done with school and was working at a dental office in Moses Lake, WA. The dentist that I was working for at the time was just an associate in a larger practice and wasn’t very busy so because of it, I had to go with him to Yakima to the larger office and work there once a week. The office was HUGE. The girls could be nasty, but low-and-behold there was hope in the form of Dee. She helped me navigate the sharks, and help me work at that big scary office, and I’ll forever be grateful for that. She ended up moving on to bigger things, and I did as well, but we’ve always been just a click away on social media.
It was one morning that I was on my way to work in Ellensburg (at a dental office, no less) that she messaged me. They had booked a photographer, but didn’t have much luck getting back in contact with her. This ALWAYS stresses me out for clients, and I knew I had to help them out. It worked out, and here we are!
Me and Dee might go way back, but her and Troy go even FURTHER back. These two went to high school together, and Troy was even the first boy Deanna held hands with! It may have been a long time coming, but it was so fun to see and how happy they are, as well as their family and friends.
Their wedding day was much like every other! I knew that Dee had some beautiful wedding details for me to get my creative juiced flowing with, but I didn’t know how adorable their daughter’s dress was until I got there. I had to get a few shots of both Dee’s dress and their daughter’s next to each other. They had so many other thoughtful moments and special pieces of their day. When it was time to get their little one ready, three grandma’s got to help, and I loved every second of it. Dee also had sweet little teddy bears made from their late loved one’s clothing as a remembrance to them. It’s always sad when loved ones aren’t around for wedding days, but I thought it was the perfect way to remember them on such a special day. It was a ceremony full of laughs and good stories, which was a great start to one heck of a dance party! It was absolutely the best day!!
Troy and Deanna, thanks again for letting me celebrate alongside you guys on your wedding day!! Dee, it’s so good to see you so happy!! I’m excited to see all your new adventures!!! Congrats again!!
