I always love when I get a chance to shoot a Fontaine Estate Wedding, and I ABSOLUTELY loved spending the day with Doug and Sarah and their amazing friends and family. One of the hardest parts of the day for me is saying goodbye, and that was definitely true on this day. I freakin’ love these two, and the joy and happiness themselves and their family brought to this day. It was absolutely perfect.
It’s always such a fun part of my morning getting to the wedding, but it makes my day even better when I’m welcomed with hugs, not just from my bride, but also her family. Sarah’s sweet momma gave me the best hug when I got there, and I instantly knew we were going to have a killer day. Sarah put so much thought into all the details in her day, and I don’t think i’ve seen Fontaine Estate look better! From the flowers to the decor, everything looked SO so good.
These two, like many of my couples, decided to go the less traditional route and had a first look before the ceremony so we could get most of their photos out of the way before the actual ceremony, and I think Doug’s expression says it perfectly. Sarah was the most stunning bride! We got their photos done in record time because they’re basically professionals, and then it was time to wait for the big show!
These two had a ceremony that was heart-felt, but also humorous and entertaining. Their officiant did a great job making it extra special for these two, and there were a few time I got goosebumps with all the warm and fuzzy feels. I love it when my couple’s officiant can make it personal. It makes the ceremony that much more special, and theirs did a great job. They were promised by their friends and family to “Stay married, stay married, stay married.” He stressed that marriage is hard, but it’s the hard times you have to work through to make it work, not the easy times. It is work, but it’s always so worth it.
You have a good idea of the rest. They kissed, they were announced husband and wife, and they we moved right into their reception. They had some of the best speeches I had heard in a long time. These two lucked out, and Sarah had two matrons of honor plus a maid of honor, and Doug had two best men. We heard of some silly times from the girls, and something about a “hand” spider and a baseball bat from one of the guys (FYI Doug HATES spiders. HA). I loved hearing more about these two, and how they ended up together from an outside perspective. So dang good. And funny.
Before my time was up with them, we made our way into the valley up from the venue for some sunset portraits, and I’ll never say no to those. It was a perfect ending to a great day.
Doug and Sarah, I can’t say it enough but THANK YOU for having me be a part of your wedding day. I have loved getting to know the two of you, and getting to meet your families and hearing even more about who you guys really are, and I’m excited for you. I’m excited to see where life takes you, how many lives you can touch, and what next adventure you’ll go on! This is definitely the start of something great! Congrats, and thanks again!!!!
