You guys!!!!!
It’s almost 2017. I seriously can’t believe it. I feel like this year has just started and here we are, just days away from welcoming the new year! HOW!? Maybe it’s because I have a child. I feel like that happens. Everyone always told us before we had a kid “it goes by too fast!” And they’re right! I can’t believe we’ll have a three year old next year. So crazy!
One thing is for sure about the year of 2016….I got to know and work with some awesome people. My couples, their friends, and their families made 2016 such a fun year! I also got to work with some other AMAZING photographers this year and I’m grateful for that as well! It’s refreshing to take the backseat sometimes and just be the second shooter for a wedding, and I did so this year almost as many times as I was the primary. It gave me more experience, and more opportunities to see if there were things that I was doing on my own that I could be doing even better! It’s always a good idea to try and find better/new ways to do things! 🙂
There were so many awesome moments of 2016 that it was hard to choose what photos I would put into this post. I could find SO many fun moments that I wanted to add, but if I would have added them all, this would have ended up a novel. I’ll spare you for that, and just let you read through my past blogs. HA! But here they are. Short and sweet. My favorite wedding moments of 2016:
Krissy was seriously the most GORGEOUS bride with the perfect smile!!! I just love how happy she looks in this. About the marry the man of her dreams.
Kerrie and her dad had the sweetest first look. I won’t lie, i cried.
Hannah and Sean’s wedding was a cold one, but you would have NEVER guessed it by how these two acted the entire day! And it was a {literal} warm welcome to see the sun at the end of it!
This was a sweet moment that I shot with J.M.Hunter Photography. This groom was taken back by just how stunning his bride was. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room!
Who doesn’t love a good post-ceremony selfie!? Now those are some happy people!
I shot this image with Third Element Photo this year. This image was right before she was about to walk out to her first look. She watched her groom walk out, and then was overcome with emotion.
These two were SO happy to finally be married!!! 😀
Same with these two!
I shot this at another wedding with J.M.Hunter Photography. Such a sweet moment during their first look.
One thing I did notice about mostly all of my favorite moments was how much emotion you could almost feel in the images. I know that I am usually bias from the image I take from a wedding, but I was there. I was the one that knew what was happening. I knew what was being said, the atmosphere of the room, I know it all. It’s my job as a photographer to be able to help my viewer see and feel those same things.
With that, I decided to make a goal for 2017. A simple word that I will strive to live up to throughout the year: Evince.
“Evince –reveal the presence of (a quality or feeling)”
I want my images in 2017 to evince the same feelings that I felt while I was IN that moment. I want my viewers to be more connected, and feel that emotion. That’s the goal. 🙂
Do you have any goal or word for 2017? I want to hear them!
