This past week I’ve been stewing over this post! I even asked my Instagram followers what they wanted to see next over here on the blog for advice! Best of the best, or favorite moments, and about 65% of them wanted my favorite moments. I got to look over the weddings I got to document this year through the week and pick those moments that really meant so much.
What I figured out as I picked those images is the same thing that I decided last year as I did my Favorite Wedding moments post from 2016! I love the images that you can see the emotion that was in that moment. I love squinty eyes, and tears, and ear to ear smiles. And I love that these images stood strong with my word of the year- evince.
Evince means to reveal the presence of (a quality of feeling). My goal for 2017 was to really capture emotion in my images to help my brides remember all those emotions from not only their wedding, but also their engagement sessions. It’s easy to forgot those little details, and I wanted to ensure that they can remember those moments!
Being pregnant this year put a fun spin on things because it made me SO much more emotional, and this blog should really be called “All the moments that made Misty cry, have the CHEESIEST smile, or laugh 2017,” or even “all the first looks, wedding recessionals, and daddy/daughter moments of 2017.” Either of those would be a pretty accurate description of all these moments. And I also noticed that a good chuck of them are in black and white. Fun fact about Misty C. Photography: if there’s an image that I want you to focus more on the moment than anything else, it becomes black and white. đ But enough about me, let’s get to those moments.
The first time Adam saw Jessica on their wedding day.
Kendall’s first look with her dad. His look is SO priceless. đ

SO FUN!!!! It really wasn’t fair to have to narrow those down because 2017 was an epic year! I’m looking forward to see how I can make 2018 even better for my couples, and haven’t quite found my word for 2018, but once I do, i’ll be making sure next years photos are spot on with that word as well! đ
Do you have a word you’re focusing on for 2018!? Let me know in the comments!
