This Chandler Reach Winery Wedding Inspiration Shoot was what my dreams have been made of for months. Moscow Mule mugs, and all things metallic…it was dreamy!
Part of the inspiration behind this shoot was that I wanted to show brides that you can do more than just burlap and lace. Every time I have done a styled shoot, that’s what my goal is. I know that there are areas that this is the most popular trend, and it’s been tried and true for years, but I just want to make sure my brides know that you can do SO much more, and it never hurts to step outside the norm.
This Not That
First things first, let’s talk about mason jars. Mason jars have their own place in my heart, and I can appreciate wanting to save money, but the trouble now-a-days is they aren’t as cheap as they once were. I remember when I was little and my mom would can peaches that she would spend like 97 cents a jar, but now, with Pinterest and Michaels and pretty much any craft store doing so many things with mason jars, they went from being a small spending point, to close to $15 A JAR! So crazy to me. So…..welcome the Moscow Mule mug. There are many Moscow mule mugs, and they are all amazing, but i just love the way they photograph, and I knew that I wanted them to be a part of this shoot.
Next up for bid, chalkboard signs. These make adorable signs for kids going into kindergarten and baby’s being born, but there’s so many other options for weddings, and my ABSOLUTE favorite is MIRRORS. Sure, as a photographer I have to be more strategic while shooting them so that I’m not just shooting a selfie, but they just look stunning, and it’s my new favorite thing.
Lastly, burlap. You know the stuff. Itchy, rough, they used to put potatoes in bags with it. I love the texture that burlap can bring to a table, but the elegance of linens at your wedding table cannot be beat. It’s cheap, and it still looks amazing. 🙂
Anyways, I have been waiting to do this shoot for sometime now, and luckily, I was able to get my friend, GariAnn, owner of Tin Sparrow Events, to help me out with it! We had been trying to get a styled shoot together for a while, and our schedules just kept getting crazier and crazier, but somehow this one worked out. And man, did it ever! We pretty much planned a “wedding” in 3 weeks, but that worked for us, and it worked well! We couldn’t have done it without the help of some other amazing vendors from around the Tri-cities though! I had SO much help from my fellow wedding vendors, and there’s no one this would have been as amazing without them. HUGE thanks goes out to them, and now I can’t wait to share…So here we are!
